Now hold your horses, this is all quite unnecessary, and just let me try to pacify you, as the morbid saying goes…..once upon a time.....there was a TV box in a Muslim house, and the TV box was very beautiful, that displayed images of splendor, in fact it was rather ordinary, a common box, but such a powerful box, that no one could deny its power to spellbind and transfix whoever dared to stare at it long enough).

In just ten days The Muslims Writers Awards are coming to Birmingham. With guests from all over the world and writers of all calibre on the judging panel, this is no small event. The Muslim Writers Project originated in April 2006 to encourage Muslims to write more. This is a unique opportunity for Muslims to put their views across and write about what’s important to them. It is too easy to let Muslim MPs and mosque leaders talk for you. Be your own spokesperson.

It has been a war of lies from the start. All governments lie in wartime but American and British propaganda in Iraq over the past five years has been more untruthful than in any conflict since the First World War. The outcome has been an official picture of Iraq akin to fantasy and an inability to learn from mistakes because of a refusal to admit that any occurred. Yet the war began with just such a mistake. Five years ago, on the evening of 19 March 2003, President George Bush appeared on American television to say that military action had started against Iraq.

"War is essentially an evil thing. Its consequences are not confined to the belligerent states alone, but affect the whole world. To initiate a war of aggression, is not only an international crime, it is the supreme international crime, differing from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole." This was a summation verdict issued at The International Tribunal at Nuremburg that convicted the leaders of the Third Reich for their crimes committed during the Second World War. 60 years on and these words still apply.

OXFORD, England - Famous for its university and quintessentially English "dreaming spires," the city of Oxford is in a controversy over the sound of Muslim call to prayer from a local mosque. Those church spires have been joined by a minaret, with a loudspeaker on top which has triggered protests from some of the locals concerned about the influx of a foreign culture.

Jason Leopold examines the case of a United States Navy chaplain, Lieutenant Commander Brian K. Waite, who has been accused of abusing his position to promote right-wing evangelical Christianity within the US military: "Waite is the author of Islam Uncovered, which holds that the Muslim faith is itself culpable for the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, Military.com reported. 'Undoubtedly our world will experience additional terrorist attempts or strikes all in the name of Allah.

Israeli fighter jets have hit targets in the northern Gaza Strip after a dozen rockets were fired towards southern Israel, the Israeli military says. Thursday's developments effectively ended a tacit truce respected by both sides since March 8, and came a day after the deaths of several Palestinian fighters at the hands of Israeli forces. Despite the fact, that on Wednseday the former PM Ismail Haniya called for an end to Israeli military operations in Gaza and the re-opening of its borders in return for halting rocket attacks.

Last Friday's front page story in the Daily Express, for example, "Scandal of Britain's Romanian gangsters" must have appeared to its editors to have ticked all the right boxes. Horrid immigrants holding child slaves, including a one year old baby used as a "prop", to steal from British families are busted by the police.

You heard it. Which one wins? In your ethical conscience I mean, what worries you on a day to day basis? Your carbon footprint, whether you should offset your air miles or maybe whether the plastic bags you carry your shopping in are choking the planet to death, or Palestine? I’m sorry, am I being a bit over the top, comparing Palestine with the massive threat of global warming? How dare I? I mean, every sensible person has jumped in the "bag-wagon" and bought an ‘I am not a plastic bag’ bag.

Should we be surprised by the BBC’s biased reporting-once again? Yesterday’s headlines were dominated by the attack on a Mercaz HaRav seminary which left 8 Israelis dead. The BBC gave full coverage to this tragic incident, with headlines throughout the day, accompanied by heartbreaking clips of Israeli families mourning their loved ones. Compare this to the BBC’s coverage of Gaza just a matter of days ago. Virtually ignored.

The school was no ordinary seminary. It was the ideological cradle of the settler movement in the West Bank, which could be the reason it was targeted. Many of its students are on special courses that combine religious study with service in combat units in the Israeli army. Well here are the facts from the "schools" website. "Mercaz HaRav... the Yeshiva’s graduates serve as Rabbis and Dayanim (Rabbinical Judges) in the cities and development towns, settlements and border villages of Israel. They serve faithfully and with devotion in the various corps of the Israeli Defense forces."

Over 130 dead Palestinians and most Muslim groups have still done nothing to help them. Most Mosques will still be talking in Urdu and saying the traitor’s mantra - ‘no politics in the mosque’. Muslim groups will continue to pacify the Muslims, teaching them about trouser length, the beard and some sort of arcane knowledge of the so called ‘self’ - so they dont prioritse anyone else but themselves.

Today we launch our biggest ever Manchester campaign to demand justice
for our brothers and sisters being murdered around the world. A news
blackout by most of the media has stopped the Muslim public really
knowing what’s going on, and so our website has kept the Muslims
up-to-date throughout this crisis. The volunteers from the Manchester branch of the Muslim Public Affairs
Committee have decided to ask the Muslims to take intelligent action to
stop Israel.

Some of you may have read an article slamming Islamic Society of Britain (ISB) that was on our website on Saturday. I also work for ISB and have many friends in ISB, who were horrified by the article and contacted me for an explanation. After a few phone calls, I had the article removed. From my time in MPACUK I have learnt that behind every rant, there is always a serious and valid argument that MPACUK is trying to air. Many may not agree with our manner but our intentions are sincere.

Why are the Western media not covering Israel's latest example of collective punishment? It is disgusting. Hardly anything was mentioned in the "free-press" of the democratic West. In fact the coverage in some cases equals to partner-in-crime. Read on for examples.
