Note: Active Rochdale Muslims have sent this into MPACUK urging Muslims to demand a reduction in the the days required to have an abortion. As a website that carries a wide variety of views from all walks of life we have published it to start the debate and get people talking and acting on the issues that face us today. Ask yourself would a mosque ever do this? If you have an opinion or an ALERT that you would like us to publish just send it in to us and let thousands of people read it on our site.

The UN is demanding an investigation into how the Israeli military
killed one of its Palestinian school teachers by blasting open the
front door of her Gaza home with explosives in the presence of three of
her children. Wafer Shaker al Daghma, 34, a teacher at a local UN Relief and Works
Agency (UNRWA) elementary school, was killed last Wednesday as she
stood preparing to open the wooden door of her home to the troops.

Not so long ago I defended my Mosque claiming it provided everything the Muslim community needs. It provides praying facilities for both men and women, provides Islamic education for children and adults. The Mosque is there in times of celebration and in times of needs.

Palestinians in the West Bank
city of Bethlehem are marking the 60th anniversary of Nakba, the day
Israel was created on the rubble of Palestine, by building a gigantic
iron key memorial. The key symbolizes the right of return
for Palestinian refugees worldwide," Munther Ameera, director of the
Aida Youth Activity Center in Bethlehem, told IslamOnline.net. Ameera, who is behind the key memorial
idea, says the aim is to demonstrate Palestinians' resolve to return to
their homes and pass the torch from one generation to the next. "We want our children to look at this key memorial and think of the day they will return to their motherland."

We have a bad habit in Western secular society of thinking that we
know best. And Western feminism often has an equally bad habit of
thinking that its ideals are the right ideals for women of all cultures. In our society, the veils and scarves worn by Muslim women are
commonly seen as symbols and tools of an oppressive Islamic patriarchy.
This sort of establishment thinking makes feminism inaccessible for
women of different beliefs, which robs the movement of its global
power.

If you are a concerned or curious sort of Muslim and you live in Birmingham, or anywhere near Birmingham, then I would like to tell you some mild but interesting news - so here goes. The MPACUK Birmingham Branch is holding a ‘gathering’ or a meeting to put it more blandly, where the good citizens of Birmingham will discuss the latest news, business, politics and most importantly, the upcoming Al-Nakbah.

It is a strange feeling: after working as a productive
professional in Gaza for five years, I have become a black market
junkie. I make several phone calls a day hunting for fuel for my car,
diesel for the electricity generator waiting on standby to power the
house, even cigarettes and vitamins. The only way to get hold of these
things, to buy life-saving medicines, to purchase the essentials for a
life of basic dignity, is through the black market, if at all. Today
all Gaza suffers severe water shortages, with the fuel needed to pump
and transport water (as well as sewage) dangerously scarce. The few
cars seen on Gaza's mostly empty streets today almost invariably run on
used cooking oil due to the lack of diesel.

Papers are being filed Tuesday morning at the Royal Courts of Justice after the BBC and ITV instructed London Mayoral Candidate Alan Craig to censor his Party Election Broadcasts aired last Wednesday (23rd April). The two broadcasters demanded that The Christian Choice candidate not criticise radical Islamist group, Tablighi Jamaat, over their plans to build Europe's biggest mosque next to the Olympics site in West Ham. Use of the word 'separatist' was ruled out by both ITV & BBC.

Boris Johnson called Islam “the problem” and has now been elected Mayor of London. Islam is not the problem. Boris Johnson is not the problem. Our Muslim leaders ARE the problem.
With nearly 1 million Muslim Londoners our leaders should have mobilised the Muslim vote to stop the rise to power of a Zionist Islamophobe. But they stood back and watched as Ken Livingstone, the most pro-Palestinian and pro-Muslim elected politician we’ve ever had, was hounded from power.

Punitive measures against orphans will never win the hearts and minds
of the Palestinians, and will only strengthen the extremists. Supporters of the Israeli authorities love to blame the country's poor reputation as being a result of woeful PR, believing that all that is required to redress the balance is a slick hasbara
campaign. However, given the harsh reality of the occupation, to
suggest that a superficial gloss job would do the trick is to totally
miss the wood for the trees.

"If the leadership is entrusted to those unfit for it, expect the Hour."
By Allah the signs of the end of times are all around us, a hundred
million Zionists desire with all their hearts to plunge this world into
the final battle, and all around the Muslims are betrayed and
bewitched. Muslim Leaders in the Mosque concern themselves with the
minor points of fiqh while all around the Ummah cries in pain and fitna
and those with hatred in their hearts plan and plot.

Everyone knows about Boris Johnson’s Islamophobic attitude. His remarks
in the aftermath of the criminal bombings in London in July 2007
provide an insight into the mind of a man that could potentially be
running one the world’s most important cities.

Israel dismissed an offer of a six-month truce from the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas today, saying the group merely wanted time to rearm. The Hamas offer came after several weeks of negotiation with Egyptian officials and after several meetings with former US president Jimmy Carter, who travelled to Damascus last week to meet the movement's leader, Khaled Meshal.

Assalamu alaykum, I have seen an individual by the name of Asghar Bukhari representing the UK muslims on various ocassions. The only issue I have is that he doesn't look like a Muslim - so why does he want to represent them?

I was handing out leaflets outside the gates of Harrow Central Mosque after Friday prayers. From the moment I started, a youth (heavily bearded and wearing a long robe) asked what I was doing; I told him I was handing out leaflets to inform people about the London Mayoral elections in the coming week. He told me it was ‘shirk’ (associating partners to God) and that I was leaving the fold of Islam.

On many an occasion Boris Johnson has tried to play to the Muslim
voters in London, by playing his trump card of my great-grandfather was
Turkish and a Muslim. So would it surprise you that the Henley MP has just found time to make
a full disclosure of a trip he made to Israel. By law all MP’s are
required to declare in the House of Commons Register of Members
Interests, the sources of any extra income or gifts which they receive
so that there can be no suspicion that their behaviour in Parliament is
unduly influenced by outside interests.
