Green Muslims
Most of us have heard and seen news reports about what is happening to our environment and how we must tackle this. It's just become Politically Correct! The one thing we haven't seen is Muslims doing their bit for the environment. Even before there was Green Peace or organisations such as Recycle Now, we as Muslims have been taught by Allah (God) to look after the enviroment.
“There is none amongst the believers who plants a tree, or sows a seed, and then a bird, or a person, or an animal eats thereof, but it is regarded as having given a charitable gift [for which there is great recompense].” [Al-Bukhari, III:513].

As our various nations have developed
and continue to develop, we need an ever increasing amount of energy to
service our every day needs, such as heating, lighting,
air-conditioning, travel etc. If this energy does not come from a
renewable energy source, we are simply using up finite fossil fuel
resources (of oil, coal, gas).

I have been using bio-diesel for approximately three months now. It is cleaner and carbon neutral. There is no difference in performance, power or economy. My car has not been modified in any way whatsoever. Moving over to bio-fuel was simple. I stopped filling up with "Dino" diesel and started using Bio. | | Comments closed |

In this physical universe, nothing is ever lost. It all gets recycled. Allah provides for the new generation from the elements of the previous generations. Decomposition, or composting, is the natural process of returning fiber to the soil, which turns lifeless sand and clay into a nutrient-rich substance that can sustain life, with the help of Allah and the sun and the rain.

Recycling in your garden. Why compost? Because it's easy, natural, helps save money, improves the environment and saves space at the Central Landfill. Composting is the decomposition of organic material that occurs constantly in nature. It is a natural way to recycle yard trimmings and some food scraps that would otherwise be buried in the landfill. Composting changes these materials to produce a beneficial product that you can use on your lawn or in your flowerbeds and vegetable gardens. About 25-30 percent of the waste created in the home and garden is compostable material.

Inspired to start recycling at work? Here are some more tips to help you begin. Start with the basics. Set up a recycling scheme for scrap paper. Make sure recycling bins are close to people's desks - so it's easier to recycle it than bin it.
