With their credibility seriously damaged after allegations of misrepresenting Muslims, Channel 4’s Dispatches team has taken a serious problem and used it as another excuse to portray a negative image of British Muslims. Dispatches’ “Unholy War”, broadcast by Channel 4 on Monday evening, focused on acts of violence committed by Muslims against converts from Islam to Christianity.

It seems that Sabar Bros are not just content with being supporters of injustice and being hypocrites (how dare they say they will not sell these blood-dates one Ramadhan and go completely against their word the next?!). They want to go that extra mile and are now a bunch of liars aswell.Sabar Bros is my local shop and I was extremely disappointed that they had put money ahead of morals, and had gone out to stock Israeli dates even though they were quite adamant they wouldn't sell them this time round, so I decided to do some investigating.

Imagine being cruelly awoken in the morning: “In the morning when the door was smashed down and the British police stormed my home. My three month pregnant wife and myself were there at the time. The Muslim Public Affairs Committee (MPACUK) would like to invite you to our London branch meeting which will be held this coming weekend on the 9th of September, Sunday. As you may be aware, MPACUK are expanding around the country and we are asking Muslims to join us into ending the injustices we see around us everyday.

The introduction of ever more draconian “anti-terror” has taken place at an alarming rate. It is perhaps self-evident that those who have most significantly been at the sharp end of the post-7/7 political landscape have been Muslims. The shooting of an innocent Muslim man in the Forest Gate raid is only one example. None of us would like our husbands, brothers, sisters or ourselves to be picked up by the police merely on grounds of suspicion, and detained for more than two months.

It's a real shame that instead of investigating the serious topic of anti-Semitism, most of Richard Littlejohn's 1 hour documentary was taken up with targeting critics of Israel: from British Academics to Ken Livingstone (Channel 4, Monday 9th July at 8pm, ‘The War On Britain's Jews’). Littlejohn completely denied the problems of racism and Islamophobia, stating at the outset that Britain was tolerant - "unless you're Jewish". Throughout the programme, Littlejohn relied principally on sensationalism, unsubstantiated accusations and sweeping generalisations rather than hard evidence.
