lol ....MPACUK make out as if they've saved the world. Lets be honest, you only have a dozen or so activists. Why is it i see the same faces all the time. In my borough of London there aren't any MPACUK members. Lets be honest, you're just a tiny org and haven't cotributed much.

Asif: MPACUK are always appealing for Muslims to join and help them contribute more. I was reading yesterday's edition of the Jewish Chronicle and MPACUK's success in getting BBC to apologise for calling Jerusalem Israel's capital is mentioned in 2 different articles. So personally rather than sarcastic sniping I've sent MPACUK an extra donation - Zionists realise how much MPACUK achieve despite the limited support they get from Muslims. Quit moaning from the sidelines and do something to help!

Tahira - I've been working with mosques in my local area for over a deade now. I understand the problems we face with our mosques and many other like myself have been and are still working to fix those problems. What i'm saying is, MPAUK does very little to help but makes out it it responsible for all the results.

Which Mosque is this? It has taken you a decade to fix a problem? Can you give me an example? Fixing the toilet, allowing women on committee, growing the beard?
What takes a mosque 10 years to sort out it's problems?

There are many Asifs in this world. Hence Muslims and mosques have been acheiving very little (in fact moving backwards in many areas). Unfortunately there are very few MPAC members in this world. Even then they've managed to achieve more than all the Asifs in the world put together.
I support MPAC. Well done guys. May Allah reward the ambitious.

western politics towards muslims is about changing muslim values into secular ones, be it by insults or devious means.
Whilst it is worth saying "look the leopard has spots" you can never change those spots, they are inherrant to that beast. Better to organise the muslim community into an independent functioning islamic community, and then interact with the rest on that basis.

Haq: Agreed, but what can we do if our Islamic leaders cannot be bothered to implement what the preach?
Also, the idea's behind MPACUK must be known so we can see where they are coming from. What the expect from our mosques so we can understand them.

making votes count:
Quote
Well done MPAC for some news on positive things happening.
However, some of the things mentioned are not clear and how they will work for muslims. "The need for tactical voting, even if voting means electing the lesser of two evils" It is difficult to understand how tactical voting or voting for the lesser of two evils actually achieves anything for muslims. Voting for a muslim even if he/she stands for a party such as labour or conservative who have been active in waging wars against the people of iraq and afghanistan and also being opposed to the palestinians isn't exactly voting for the lesser of two evils. The lesser of 2 evils can still be evil so why not use the vote positvely for a party we actually support. Brown aready knows there is a possibility that there will be a hung parliament which is why he tried to get cosy with the lib dems through ashdown. Why don't we muslims seize the opportunity to really make out vote count by voting positively.

MPACUK have always maintained that alone, no Muslim group could achieve any significant changes in the state of the Ummah. What is required is the active participation of the Ummah in their own defence, spearheaded by the masjids. Well we the MPACUK's Department of Institutional Reform are happy to report that things seem to be taking a turn for the better. Islamic Institutions are now beginning to approach us for training on how to be active in the fields of Politics and Media.
