"He's Good For Muslims In Blackburn", Is He? Print E-mail
Sunday, 18 March 2007

Jack Straw and Ibrahim MasterIn the last election some of the MPACUK team went to Blackburn to ask Muslims not to vote for Jack Straw, a pro Israeli, pro war then foreign secretary.

We were unbelievably opposed by Mosque Leaders in the area.

The committee members of the mosques, told the pacified Muslims that looked up to them to carry on voting for Straw, because he was good for the Muslims of Blackburn, forget those who suffered abroad.

"We are putting the interests of the Muslim community in the UK first and foremost and I don't have any shame in saying that".

Can you believe a mosque leader would say that? Yet it was not one leader it was virtually all of them.

These mafia goons then attacked members of MPACUK (caught on camera) in the Channel Four documentary “Operation Muslim Vote” in an attempt to silence them.

They used every dirty trick they could to keep their power base, acting like “mini-me” dictators who feared to lose their relationship with the tyrant king.

The so called people of knowledge, scholars and Imams refused to help, fearing for their jobs, they allowed the committees to silence us, or worse secretly backed the committee themselves. Thus Jack Straw was elected again. The Mosque goons had prevailed over reason and justice (Islam).

The Muslims were taught to be idle and believe everything the mosque leaders taught them, thus never questioned their own leaders, as if the leaders were somehow unquestionable, and beyond any criticism. This is the way these leaders want it, an unquestioning, passive, mob who will never ask the difficult questions, questions that will expose their hypocrisy and incompetence.

The MPACUK founding principle of accountability for Muslim leadership was something they feared, for it would take power out of their hands and put it into the hands of the public. No dictator wants that.

Now years later, Jack Straw is attacking the very people who elected him, the Muslims. Where are the great and powerful mosque leaders who told us to vote for him?

In the Daily Express, Jack Straw has done yet another interview saying “Muslim must Learn English!”

He of course gave the interview to a pro-Israeli Newspaper, which has been at the front of fermenting hatred against Muslims in this country. Why chose that paper to make this point? More importantly if he really wanted Muslims to learn English, then why has he allowed the worst Muslim ghetto in Britain to develop right under his nose in Blackburn? The divide between Muslims and non Muslim is almost akin to self inflicted apartheid.

He allowed it, and never said a thing to the Muslim leaders who encouraged it because they delivered a block Muslim vote. Well these same Muslim Leaders are no longer as powerful as they once were, thanks to an MPACUK campaign educating the Muslim public.

So the gloves are off, he doesn’t need them anymore. Their “Lord” has abandoned them to chase the right wing BNP vote that is spreading in Blackburn.

We ask the Muslim’s: When will you stand up against the dictators who run your mosques, and start to ask the questions that have still not been answered? When will you call for leaders who will fight to end corruption, stand up for social inclusion, and those who will be the true voice of British Islam?

“Why did these Muslim leaders stand against MPACUK in the last election and tell you, to vote for Jack Straw?”

When will you have the courage to demand more of your leaders, when will you reclaim the Mosques and make it a house run by noble men, with brave hearts, instead of out of touch old men who do nothing but cement their own power at your expense.

See the article here.

Muslims around the world, and now in the UK have suffered because the Muslims of Blackburn elected a man who has attacked us, again and again. Remove the men who backed him, or apologise to the ummah for the suffering you are making us go through.

The people of Blackburn we are holding you to account!

Jack Straw good for the Muslims please don’t make me laugh! Try telling that to the sisters who were attacked in the street after his anti-nikab comments...not to mention his little outing with Condi... she is still deluded enough to be declaring that ‘the united states does not condone torture’ after evidence of secret CIA detention centers, renditions and the existence of Guantanamo...and I thought we were trying to stop terrorists coming into the UK so how did she get in?

Please ppl wake up!!!!!

"The people of Blackburn we are holding you to account!"

Is this how MPACUK hope to bring the Ummah together?

And how dare MPACUK complain about mosque unaccountability and undemocratedness. When was the last time MPACUK held elections? When was the last time they were held accountable?

Double Standards?

Once again we have MPACUK attacking the people of Blackburn! At the last election I had to endure MPACUK members stopping me in the street and telling me I had the blood of Iraqi children on my hands and now this!

The Muslims of Blackburn are not a heterogenous group to be clubbed under the banner of 'pacifists' but many are politically active.

I wish MPACUK would take the blinkers off for a moment and take a look at the broader picture of 'Muslim ghetto' Blackburn as it calls it.

well done mpac, its about time the backward retards of blackburn and the zionist appeasers like sami and ironically ummah unity felt the heat. if you guys do nothing while evil is perpretrated you are partly responsible.

strange how you havent taken jack Straw on or askd him why he made his comments in a zionist paper? i think either your so full of hatred that you cannot see that MPAC are waking you up (because your dads in the committee), or your a zionist and dont want the debate to happen, so you will try to divert it.

excellent article maybe Jacks lackies will tell us why he has gone to a zionist newpaper and helped forment hatred towards muslims while they passively sit by. or is it mpacs fault for seeing the evil and asking for improved leadership.

with an umah as educated as the idiots who continually defend the mosques its no wonder that jack is elected again and again all the while, getting support from Muslims who he attacks at every opportunity.

Whilst MPACUK may not be perfect, it is at least, making efforts to awaken sleepy Muslims : if you do not want to listen to MPACUK, refer to the Holy Quran : do not expect others to look after your interests, otherwise you will be bitterly disappointed : has not the Palestine history taught you anything : the stupid Arabs are still begging at USA's door : what have they gained other than humiliation ? As far as I understand, MPACUK is not anti Jews or Christians : there are infact many thousands of Jews and Christians who are fighting for fairness and justice : and that is all MPACUK is doing : fairness fr ALL : be it Jews, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, etc Do NOT support the racist Straw, who is a zionist puppet like his master Tony Blair

Whats wonderful is the double standards involved here. Jack Straw says:

"Speaking at an integration conference in his constituency in Blackburn, Lancs, he said he knew a family who moved to the UK in 1954 but the woman could still not speak a word of English.

Mr Straw said: “One of the things we should be looking at is the subject of Asian women speaking English and whether we need to engage them and require them to speak English before they are given a settlement visa.”"

However here in Golders Green where I live which is a Jewish Ghetto, there are many many many Jewish men and women who cannot speak a word of English. I can guarantee that Jack Straw has met women of his own faith who cannot speak English yet he doesn't speak about them and the Daily Express which is run by leading members of the Jewish community must surely know of these Jewish women who have lived here for decades with no knowledge of English yet there are no stories about them.

It looks to me as if Lord Patel and his sycophants elected a hypocrite who hates muslims. Brothers and sisters of Blackburn please learn from your mistake and don't be an unintelligent safe bloc vote for Labour in future.

I cant believe a Muslim who would name themselves "ummah unity" would use Islam and the ummah as a cover to back Master and Lord Patel!

Shame on the so called Muslim who said this!

Where was the unity of the Blackburn Muslims with the Iraqi's when they were being bombed to death thanks to Jacks war!

Go back to the sleazy mosque that taught you to worship Uncle Jack (as the muslims of blackburn call him) instead of preaching to Muslims who worship Allah and think of those dying around the world in their prayers and actions!

Not averyone there is a 'lacky' of Lord Patel & Ismail Master and I have never referred to Jack Straw as Uncle Jack!
These type of accusations will not help anyyone and laying these 'crimes' at the feet of Blackburn muslims will not help to empower them. Instead of this why not give support to the people who wish to make serious change and not just rock the boat.

No doubt MPACUK is doing the right thing by practically involving itself in the politics and making a difference for Muslims with no personal gains. Unlike people like you "Ummah unity" who are opposing the truth. At least MPACUK did its part by educating Muslims what is going on in reality.Mosques are being used by some dictators for their personal goals and power. THIS SHOULD BE CHANGED AND A BETTER PERSON SHOULD BE APPOINTED WHO WILL NOT ONLY BY HIS WORDS BUT BY ACTIONS SHOW MUSLIMS THAT SOMETHING IS BEING DONE.MPACUK found the fault and they should be appreciated. Instead of criticising MPACUK, work for the betterment of the Muslims.

Re Joy1, Can you please use some sort of intellect instead of talking like some over pious up yourself no body!

Calling someone Jewish is hardly a crime?, the fact that someone would see that as anti - Semitic only proves as was correctly pointed out by the chap in the video "operation Muslim vote" as Islamaphobic.

For it means that by calling Lorna Jewish an adverse reaction would have been taken by the Muslim community.

That’s a disgraceful assumption!

Even if it was factually untrue, again thats all it is - a mistake.

Joy stop acting like an Islamaphobe! or worse a dumb Muslim idiot!

If she was called "Jewish"... there is nothing wrong with that, if it was a mistake or if it was a fact!. Unless of course you have an agenda to claim it was anti Semitic for some political purpose.

Syed: Thank you for your polite comment and swiftly referring me to Operation Muslim vote which I have been able to view myself. I accept another organisation may have been responsible for publishing that Lorna was 'Jewish', but how does her being a member of a particular community affect her ability to serve as an MP for Rochdale? Why would an organisation, regardless whether it was MPAC or another Muslim group use someone’s background to lose them votes?

The second message from Lorna is Jewish-

Calling someone Jewish is hardly a crime?, the fact that someone would see that as anti - Semitic only proves as was correctly pointed out by the chap in the video "operation Muslim vote" as Islamaphobic.

I accept another organisation may have been responsible for hinting that Lorna was 'Jewish', but how does her being a member of a particular community affect her ability to serve as an MP for Rochdale? Why would an organisation, regardless whether it was MPAC or another Muslim group use someone’s background to lose them votes? That is heartless. You should judge politicians and hold them to account based upon how they voted within Parliament, what they did for constituents, issues they raised or things they could have done better etc. Don’t bring in their ethnic or religious background in it. It would be perceived as anti-semitic by some sections of the Jewish and non-Jewish community.

In actual fact, although I encourage and support Muslims’ to vote and participate fully in the political process, the use of demonisation and discrimination is fundamentally wrong. In addition, I favour the work MPAC is doing to reform the mosques and ensure women and young people play a role in the day to day operations within each mosque.

The irresponsible language and mischievous attitude will further alienate MPAC and its support will wither away within Britain’s Muslim community. I call upon the Muslim Public Affairs Committee to disassociate their organisation with radical elements that hold offensively vile, racist and derogatory viewpoints.

In actuality, you will find from your own research that I am a British Muslim and regularly get involved in the work of Muslim organisations’ and champion issues affecting Muslims. However, you are entitled to pursue a campaign that is unhelpful and lacks any actual evidence.

It is with great sadness I read once again MPAC making the same irresponsible mistake as those you attack. Do you care an ounce for the irresponsible damage you are causing by blanket attacking whole communitites? Blackburn muslims account for 26% of its population. In some areas it is one of the most deprived and socio-economically disaffected in the country. As with any other towns we have challenges promoting amongst all its residents (NOT just muslim) civic and political responsibility/accountablity. It is grossly unfair of you to assume the election of some was soley down to ALL of the muslim community. I fear you too are playing the dictatorship role of finding us guilty even before our voices are heard. We have had huge levels of international attention. As a result we have worked hard AND achieved to rescue our ummah in ways you will never recognise. I would like to remind you of the tireless effort NOT by EMPAC BUT of the residents of Blackburn who gained international recognition and respect for their resistence against last years USA Sectretary of State's visit. I would like to remind you of the voices that spoke out against the viel. I would like to inform you that this work was united in parts through the support of our mosques, our members and both muslims and non muslims. I ask you, do not segregate our contributions. Do not ignore our contribution.

Your statement 'and now in the UK have suffered because the Muslims of Blackburn elected a man who has attacked us, again and again. Remove the men who backed him, or apologise to the ummah for the suffering you are making us go through.

The people of Blackburn we are holding you to account! '

It is a shame you hold yourself in such esteem, holding us accountable. It is a shame rather than recognising the work of many you continously attack our community.

Blackburn are no less united than other towns. Through your irresponsible statements, reaction, and action you do nothing to support us. It is a huge shame.

Due to this, all the Muslims of Blackburn will be painted with the same brush, of having blood on their hands, and I accept it. The people of Blackburn ARE responsible for the lives lost in Iraq. (Obviously the few that did not vote are excluded, but this is a general statement.
