Very informative clip.
I simple cannot believe that the white sister was faced with racist abuse. Sexism is one thing, racism is another.

Ming couldnt agree more although I disagreed with the way the campaign was conducted, Its shocking and disgusting to hear muslim men abusing our sisters.

The sisters come across as fairly reasonable on the audiocast.Unfortunately they did not come across reasonable on the documentary>Who was the documentary intended for the target audience was clearly not the muslim. Also the brother called asghar from mpac has been accused off deliberlately inciting people outside the nosques. You guys certainly did not display any islamic etiquette or adaab as you put it in the documentary.Nor have you addressed the multitude off questions critical off this documentary.Brother Asghar its time too show some humility and apologise for youre attitude in this documentary.

Why are we always apologising for other people’s action?
Like Masud I disagree with the way the campaign was conducted. Just because some elders have not have had the same education as us and/or grew up with different set of values doesn’t give us a free ticket to insult them or the culture they value and brought up in. The way the campaign was conducted made me feel that we are no different to them. This thing about equality between women and men is a western concept. This is a weapon used to destroy our way of life. Islam teaches great respect towards women but Allah has given man and women different roles. In situations where say both husband and wife wants to go out and work but isn’t practical, then the man has the last say, in other situations the wife has the last say. Islam teaches right but not equality in the western sense.

Go girls! We have gender equality laws in this country: use them.
Nice to hear majority (albeit not unanimous) male muslim support for them on here too.

As a postscript, what you are doing and the resistance and antagonism you are meeting are absolutely similar to what happened to Western women when they first campaigned to have the universities opened to them, and to have the vote.

This
week on the MPACUK AudioCast, Brother Kareem Mujahid interviews the four sisters
from the "Women Only Jihad" documentary, on the issues which many of MPACUK
Forum Members and the general public have raised. Sixty percent of UK Mosques do
not allow women in to pray, an even greater majority do not have female
representation on the mosque committee. Here the MPACUK Sisters talk about why
they have decided to lead the struggle against the communities which sideline
the participation of the women of Islam.
