Gemma Tumelty told Generation "NUS has always taken a strong stance on social equality and justice, both in the UK and in the wider world, and I am committed to continuing this tradition under my presidency." *cough*, *cough*. Okay NUS has "always" taken a strong stand for "justice". Is this what the newly elected president call's Justice? It is time to hold the NUS accountable for it's Pro-War stance, which the majority of the British people deplore. MPACUK asks all Societies and Student Unions to make their stance loud and clear and say that the killing must stop. Enough is Enough!!

Two faced cow! You can't even trust the NUS president now.
How can the nus support this? I think the nus has been hijacked by these Zionists. Where are the condemnation from the islamic socities?

nus? why bother with a non-organisation.
leave the kiddies in their play pen . muslim/islamic student groups and those that understand the real word should get involved in mpac or stop the war, in campaigns directed at parliament, mps etc. lets stick to the real world politics where it does matter. i really dont know why the nus is even an issue here.

Last week the line was 'immediate ceasefire'.
Now the Lebanese and Arab League have said they do NOT want an immediate ceasefire with Israelis on the ground in Lebanon. Isn't it time that Mr. Collector, MPAC et al caught up?

Who said NUS is a non-entity? It's a huge union representing 5 million students! And have you ever heard of Charles Clarke? Jack Straw? Trevor Philips? David Aaronovitch? All former presidents of the NUS. Today's NUS leaders will also shape the political and media elite of tomorrow. It's about time Muslim students started getting active and influencing the NUS! Start be responding to this alert - and when you're back at Uni stand for election to the NUS conference and positions, put forward motions etc. Children are dying today - this is your jihad!

Tahira: - it might be a huge union but it has very little sway amongst the majority of students and certainly has no sway outside of universities/colleges. that is with the ordinary man on the street.
if 5 million students acted with nus lead then you might have a point but they dont. being an ex student i know how little the nus means to the majority of students. you are giving too much credit to the nus leaders - to make a claim that they will frame the future, they dont in the main. was murdoch an ex nus president? was greg dyke, michael grade , tony blair or david cameron? like i said playpen politics, and its leaders are largely self serving .. ie they use it to get themselves jobs rather than anything else for the greater good.

Well well well.
Isnt this a pleasent suprise. Shame on FOSIS. Shame on them for delivering an NUS leadership that is not willing to call for an immediate ceasefire. After claiming at their annual conference about how wonderful the President is because she graced them with her presence at the AGM, this is how she repays them. How naive of them to claim that they did not make the wrong decision at NUS conference at their AGM. Well done FOSIS. This is what happens when you dont put the question of where people stand on Palestine on the forefront of your agenda when choosing which presidential candidates to vote for. This is what happens when you make corrupt deals and put personal careers before the interest of muslim students. I haven't received one FOSIS email asking me to write to the NUS President about their position on the middle east crises. Probably because they don't want to bring to everyone's attention about how they played a part in ensuring the candidate backed by the zionist will lead the national union that is meant to represent over 5 million students. Well done FOSIS. The views of the National Union of Students is more in line with warmongers Bush and Blair than the rest of the International community.
