MPACUK are continuing, relentlessly, to counteract the dirty smear campaign Ware has begun.  Our sources inform us that Ware has allegedly been approaching individuals and groups, probing them for interviews and comments on Interpal; allegedly, Ware has been noted to have stated this as 'a new cold war.' And if his last documentary on Muslims is anything to go by (one of the most Islamophobic, Pro-Israeli Panorama programmes aired by the BBC and one which received over 600 complaints last year) he's likely to portray us as a terrorist-supporting, fanatical threat to British society. For our readers who are unaware of Ware's Islamophobic, pro-Israeli stance, below is some information we have uncovered on him.

Ware's Fan Base Includes Zionist Islamphobes

Ware has received great praise from the likes of Daniel Pipes and Harry's Place for his 'journalism' – again individuals and groups infamous for their pro-Israeli, Islamophobic views.  

"The show does not disappoint; John Ware interviewed the right people, asked the right questions, displayed a suitable persistence, and it made crystal clear that the MCB is an Islamist institution. Now, will the British establishment draw the obvious conclusion, exclude it, and seek a moderate replacement?"

Impartial Or Biased?

John Ware's programme (MCB-Panorama) makes pretence of being impartial and nowhere is this more clearly displayed than in the section about the Israel-Palestine conflict. It is worth quoting Ware in full:

[Ware] "The Israel-Palestine conflict is over land and holy sites. It's a rallying cry for young martyrs in the global ummah. Islamist groups like Hamas have used terrorist tactics against Israel because they want to destroy it. Israeli military operations targeting the Islamists have also caused many civilian deaths."

Note how Ware tries to sound balanced to the unsuspecting viewer. Yet we would not know from listening to him that it is the Israelis who for decades now have been illegally occupying Palestinian lands in defiance of numerous UN resolutions. We are told that Hamas use 'terrorist tactics' against Israel but are not told about terrorist methods used by Israel against Palestinians. When describing the assassination of the quadriplegic Hamas leader and Islamic scholar Shaykh Ahmad Yasin by Israel, Ware refers to it simply as an 'Israeli missile strike'. Ware gives no indication of the imbalance in power between the two sides and the disproportionality in the numbers of casualties where since the year 2000, four Palestinians have been killed for every Israeli.

Ware makes a big fuss of Sir Iqbal Sacranie having attended a memorial meeting for Shaykh Ahmad Yasin and asks Sir Iqbal: "You did not have to go to that memorial service in the central mosque…you could have chosen not to go." Would Ware make a similar fuss about British Jewish leaders who have repeatedly met the Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon who was found by Israel 's own Kahane commission of being 'indirectly responsible' for the massacre of over two thousand Palestinians in the Sabra and Shatila camps? Somehow, we doubt it.

John Ware's pro-Israel bias is very clearly exposed in his one-sided representation of the conflict. He reserves all his criticism and condemnation for the Palestinians without a word of censure for the Israelis. Ware censures Iqbal Sacranie for attending a memorial service for Sheykh Ahmad Yasin because of his promotion of martyrdom operations in the liberation struggle. Regardless of whether people agree with methodologies, it would be hard to argue as sadly Ware tries and fails) that the Palestinian cause is not a just one. Would he also condemn those who attend memorial services for the late Steve Biko and eventually Nelson Mandela on his passing?

MPACUK are outraged that someone who is clearly Islamophobic and biased towards Israel , and who fails to live up to the high-quality objective journalism that we should expect from the BBC, has been chosen to produce a documentary on a Muslim Palestinian charity for this flagship BBC program. Surely a 'journalist' who is a renowned Zionist and Islamophobe cannot possibly live up to the Royal charter, by which the BBC are bound, which stipulates that all programme makers ensure accuracy and impartiality in presentation of controversial subjects? How will allowing a notorious Islamophobe to pursue a witch-hunt against pro-Palestinian organisations help to fulfill the BBC's commitment to contribute to "a more inclusive society"*? Is this what we pay our licence fee for?

Once again, it seems that those in powerful and influential positions are being allowed to abuse their role and carry out their 'hidden' agenda – and destroying Panorama's credibility and good name in the process.   Ware should not be able to tarnish MUslims in this way; by attacking the Palestinian people, effectively the whole Ummah is being attacked. In light of this we must remember our duty to protect and honour our brothers and sisters. Enjoining the good and forbidding the evil must permeate not only our personal ibadat but also in the battle to help Muslims worldwide. Any act in the way of Allah, is an act of ibadat.
