At the end of the day we know the 'real' situation of the ummah today, whereby a few are very active and the many are either inactive, ineffective or just drifting...
I think we should give people a variety of options in addition to signing the petitions whereby they could help the people of palestine and in other important areas... Sometimes 'forcefully' accounting people may create a bigger distance between yourself and the people you are trying to motivate into action... It might be worth placing a wider number of options for them to become actively engaged in some manner and then build up a momentum from there... just a suggestion... It is always the few who will be active, and their numbers always seem to grow slowly.. unfortunately it is the reality we live in... i have also noticed a growing trend whereby sometimes i get upto 5-10 emails a day to sign various petitions alone, which i think most people will find difficult to maintain esp if they feel they do not bring results...

Then we have the head of "childrens islamic education" a woman walking into 10 downing street claiming to represent muslims with no hijab!! yea no hijab!! and worse still dressed like a mushrik!! i mean come on!! and she is supposed to be educating our muslim children about islam, im sorry but all i have seen is these so called islamic organisations speaking rubbish and doing nothing, and i see it in my own community, just because a muslim is a rich bangladeshi/ pakistani or a doctor or a surgeon that does not make him by default self appointed amir of the community just because of his wealth, even our imam cant do anything, not even make a statement or an announcement at jummah in my area without having to seek "permission" of a bunch of non practising beardless men who have no knowledge of Islam, and even less knowledge of how to deal justly and with wisdom,who appointed themselves the "leaders of the community" (and leader of the imam which is ludicrous) they didnt even get past the racial barriers yet (when i tried to speak about having a masjid built yes but we need our "own" masjid ie; paki and bangladeshis only no white folk allowed) ,now If mpack are a muslim organisation claiming to speak on behalf of muslims then where are their leaders and why are they not taking this to the bbc themselves? has mpack taken this to the radio stations, the televevision, local news? the islamic channels? al jazeera? i didnt hear anything at all. im a muslim only 6 years, i go into schools, i go on radio, t.v i speak out publically, just me. one sister out of more than 500 muslims where i live. So id like to know what have mpack done with this information? apart from post it on a website that people may never have heard of, i have only found this website through a forum, i live in the uk and have never heard of mpack before, and in regards to the media why had no one sued them for defamation of our religion? terms like islamic fundamentalist or islamist or muslim terrorist are complete slurs on our deen but no one says a word.
