What a load of tosh! When some Muslims are angered at the West for killing innocent Muslims and decide to take revenge on innocent Westerners, then you call it 'Muslim Extremism'. When the West is angered by Muslims killing their innocents and decide to take revenge (Like they did on just short of a million innocent Muslims in Afghanistan and iraq), then why not label it as 'Christian Extremism' ?

Dear MPAC, why are yourselves and Sheikh Haitham taking part in a discussion for the discredited and reviled Taj Hargey who is a "progressive" liberal Muslim and part of the NeoCon movement to dismantle Islam from inside?
You need only see some of this mans views inc. that Muslims give a false view to non-Muslims about how peaceful they are, parades Ismailis as experts on Islam, feels that the hijaab should be resisted and is generally an unheard of and unrecognised loser. If Salman Rushdie called you to a discussion about the Prophet (SAW) would you attend?

Muslims can do what they want but Biblical Christianity will continue to be spread in the UK,Middle East, and around the world.

As-Salaamu 'alaikum,
Taj Hargey is worse than a "'progressive' liberal Muslim", he is (at least according to his MECO press releases of a couple of years ago) a "Quran-aloner", i.e. a person who does not believe that hadeeth are part of Islam as they are all just "hearsay". Such people are regarded as kaafirs. I do hope people take him up on these issues at this debate, as well as his attempt to represent the Muslims himself by slagging off Muslims who stand up for their deen.

The sad fact is that Muslims being killed in Afganistan and Iraq are at the hands of other Muslims (Suni-Shia or Alqada). Those that are killed by western forces are insurgents (Taleban) who are more often than not foreign and would carry on killing local Muslims for not leading their lives according to their perverted view of Sharia law (women not going to school, no music, wrong hair style). The troops may be foreign but are putting their lives on the line to try and help the majority of ordinary Muslims lead a normal, free life. This day of talks look really interesting and I would like to go along to hear all the different views. From some of the comments here, it looks like it will be very lively.

Irfan al-Alawi is the "Western Europe director" of Stephen Schwartz's so-called Center for Islamic Pluralism, which refer to all Muslims who practice their deen/faith in accordance with the Qur'an ad Sunnah as extremists, they label movements such as Tablighi Jamat as a "satanic ideology". They perpetuate the myth of Islamism and wahabism being the banes of society and the root of all eveil inthe world (they conveniently fail to observe the evils of western imperialism, occupation and excess in Muslim lands), but of course mystical, apolitical, subservient versions of Sufism are OK ;). They are intent on dismataling the fundamentals of this faith. Nothing need be said about devil boy Taj Hargey the rejecter of hadith (narrations of the Prophet), a heretic who is outside the fold of Islam. I guess MPAC will be in good company as all these imbeciles oppose the building of Allah's House in East London! May Allah protect his Deen from their conspiracies and may he humiliate them in this world and the next. And no before you ask, I am not a radical. I am a clean shaven, fish & chip loving London lad who has 2 ears and 2 eyes and can see when the snakes doning Muslim names attempt to undermine legitimate gieviances and attack the cornerstones of Islam.

To turn away from an event, just because you disagree with a few things the organiser believes in, isn't such a good move. This is a platform to have your say. By shunning yourself from 'them' doesn't advance understanding, and only feeds on ignorance.
