Maybe Brown has taken up the patronage of JNF as he feels that it worked for Blair, (also a JNF patron, alongside David Cameron), so he is nailing his flag very publically to the Zionist mast in the hope that they will support his premiership. Well someone’s got to….

An Ardent Zionist – It’s in the Family

The Jewish Chronicle proudly reveals that “Mr Brown has long been known for his support of Israel.” He counts Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks amongst his close friends.

“In a speech to Labour Friends of Israel in April, he recounted how his late father, had taught him about “the trials and tribulations of the Jewish people, about the enormous suffering and loss during the Holocaust, as well as the extraordinary struggle he described to me of people to create this magnificent homeland”.” (The Jewish Chronicle 27th July 2007).

Now whilst I agree with the first part of the statement, in terms of the huge suffering experienced by the Jewish people and the sheer injustices metered out against these people by the Europeans, I am appalled at how anyone can look at Israel and consider it as having being created into a ‘magnificent homeland’. Whilst the Zionists will be celebrating the birth of Israel, the Palestinians will mourn the loss of their freedom, land and basic human rights.

What can be magnificent about the Zionists’ Homeland?

Palestine was not ‘a land without people for a people without land!’
It was home to generations of mainly Arab farmers who had lovingly tended the land and lived in self-sufficient villages, totally innocent of heinous crimes perpetrated against the Jews, who in turn have sought to ethnically cleanse them from their own land ever since.

For 60 years Israel has played the victim card and will continue to do so. Israel the nuclear power, with masses of latest US weaponry and expertly trained ‘soldiers’, unashamedly pits itself against the largely unarmed Palestinian civilians and kills with impunity men, women and children and even peace activists Rachel Corrie and Tom Hurndall. Those that dare resist are branded terrorists. Were the French Resistance also terrorists?

Free democratic elections delivered Hamas to power, which just wouldn’t do, as it was unlikely they would collaborate with Israel. So Israel’s Rottweiler the good old USA, funded the training of Fat’ha ‘security forces’ in Jordan and sent them back to Palestine to fight against Hamas and stamp out any ‘resistance’ to Israeli aggression. Sound incredible? It’s the current plan in action..…shame on the collaborators.

Experts in Propaganda: Israel is the victim and the Palestinians are the ‘terrorists’……

In reality…12 Israelis have been killed by Palestinian rocket attacks in the past six years. However, according to The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, (as of 5th Feb08) 700 Palestinians were killed, including 224 civilians (78 of them children) by Israeli forces in extra-judicial executions during that same time period.

We bulldoze their homes (thanks Caterpillar Inc!); destroy their farmland - 1,390,000 trees were uprooted in the years 2001-2005 by the Israelis, most of them olive trees, (The Arab Group for the Protection of Nature); bomb their schools; murder their children; force their women to give birth at checkpoints, the odds are great there are over 500 of them and pump our raw sewage into their drinking water, but we’re just defending ourselves….

The Zionists’ stranglehold on the Media.

Most decent people are denied the truth and manipulated into swallowing the Zionist’s version of events. Palestinian deaths get very little media attention. 8 seminary students were killed by a Palestinian and the BBC nominated this story as its top headline and gave it lengthy air-coverage for days. Over 130 Palestinians have been butchered since the beginning of the year and the media pays little homage to them, in fact just like Iraq, the victims don’t even get an official count. Any sense of trying to reveal the truth from the Palestinian perspective will be met with a well coordinated hate-mail campaign from Zionists in North America, non-licence fee payers, may I add. Only a few dare risk taking on the Zionist machine, sadly limiting their careers in the process.

Flaunting International Law.

Another catastrophe is under way under the full gaze of the international community, with the blockade of Gaza’s five checkpoints. Israel may have ‘left’ Gaza but it retains full control of the territory as proven by its current brutal stranglehold. The Council for Arab-British Understanding (CABU) published the following statement in The Independent on 14th November 2007:–

‘They are using the starvation and strangulation of civilians under occupation as a method of warfare, and collective punishment, outlawed in the Rome statute as war crimes…”
But the world watches in silence.

What of The Next 60 Years?

Well, that depends on us. Where is our Salahadin? He proved only by unifying Muslims can we achieve success and liberty. When will we get beyond our petty differences and return to the ways of the Qur’an and Sunnah? Loving each other for the sake of Allah and feeling their pain because they are part of our Ummah.
