The blogger, Michelle Malkin, called the garment "a regular adornment of Muslim terrorists appearing in beheading and hostage-taking videos". Stylist's choice Other criticism followed and the coffee and doughnuts chain has now decided to drop the advert. Fashion statements may seem insignificant, but when they lead to the mainstreaming of violence - unintentionally or not - they matter Michelle Malkin In a statement, Dunkin' Donuts said the silk scarf had been "selected by Rachael Ray's stylist and that no symbolism was intended. "But given the possibility of misperception the commercial was no longer being used." This has caused a fair amount of consternation in some quarters but the conservative blogger at the centre of the row has praised the decision.
"Fashion statements may seem insignificant, but when they lead to the mainstreaming of violence - unintentionally or not - they matter," Ms Malkin has written. Readers have left 10 comments.
Israel's "Freudian" attitude:
Quote
Michelle Malkin is another yellow wannabe desperately trying to be more loyal to Israel than Zionists themselves. I would have thought she had gone underground by now after bneing discredited.
The Keffieh has since Israel's humiliation and withdrawal from Gaza in 2005 and from Lebanon in 2000 symbolised just that but the fault for that lies with Israel's butchers and not with the Kiffayah wearing heroes who defeat Israel's tanks and jets with their bare hands. If Israel would rather forget its ignominy there is no reason the rest of the world should too. When Muslims object to an advertisements for Marks and Spencer featuring Zionist prostitutes like Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin not wearing very much, they get subjected to attacks from the Left and the Right. Why is that then?

Assalaam walaikum and Greetings
This is pathetic. A well known company like Dunkin' Donuts giving in to remarks that the arab scarf (keffiyeh) is somehow endorsing terrorism on the grounds that terrorists wear it. The arab scarf (keffiyeh) is worn by most arabs who have nothing to do with militants or terrorism. It is part of their dress sense. Terrorists also wear shirts, trousers, shoes, etc. Do we pull adverts where these clothes are shown as well ? People need to grow up. Wasalaams

Knowledge Reigns Supreme:

I could go on for ever and ever about the commodification of culture due to war mongering.
How War commodifies cultural symbols to normalize the advent of bombing and cultural breakdown that occurs at the hands of an occupation. SO, unless you are from the trans-jordan area to the land of the Lost (Saudi America), you are NOT, in my eyes, under any circumstances supposed to be wearing this. Unless you know your politics and are wearing it as a symbol of your faith, belief and/or support for the injustices that are occuring to the East, please, leave your headwraps at home. Call me Racist, but really, when i used to wear these through my university days in the late 1990's, I got kicked out of stores, grilled, and boxed in as an Islamo-faschist. Say no to cultural commodification. Leave Your Kaffiyeh's at Home - It Ain't Fashion!

The only consternation that should be felt is by muslims who have racists trying to get us all to accept their own associations with an innocent scarf.... no doubt it messes up their propaganda lines to us all.
Whatever next, that anyone wearing this scarf is an arab terrorist or the colour of their arab terrorist is brown so do away with all brown people..... yes racism is deep rooted its racist that should be given the boot all the time by companies such as this one telling them that their racism and racist hatred will not be tolerated.

Apparently a scarf is more offensive to the Zionimals than a Prophet Mohammad cartoon (with abomb exploding out his turban) is to the Muslims.

The US chain Dunkin' Donuts has pulled an advert following complaints that the scarf worn by a celebrity chef offered symbolic support for Islamic extremism. The online advert for iced coffee featured the well-known US television chef Rachael Ray. She was wearing a black-and-white checked scarf around her neck that resembled a traditional Arab keffiyeh. This fashion choice incensed at least one prominent conservative blogger, who said it evoked extremist videos.
