A bit garbled at the end there but that's what it said in Monsters and Critics. There are several reports on this around the web. I got the news from the Just Peace UK list. Desert Peace refers people to Norman Finkelstein's site for updates and the Camden Abu Dis group again on the Just Peace list has sent out a plea from Sam Bahour in Ramallah for Americans and Israelis to contact their relevant state officials to do what they can/should to enable Finkelstein to get to the occupied territory he was bound for when he was arrested. I wonder if the smear campaign against Finkelstein, now rearing its ugly head in the UK, is anything to do with all this. Source: Jews sans frontieres Readers have left 8 comments.

THIS is the reason why ordinary Israelis have to start questioning the government of the only democracy in the Middle East.

Norman Frankenstein was on you tube comparing hezbuallah to the resistance of the nazis in ww2 another idiot who knows nothing of the arab muslim texts and teaching of jihad, watch theses scum take over Lebanon and then hide amongst the Christians while attacking Israel like the plo did no need to smuggle weapons when you control the place through fear and intimidation and so Islam is propagated. the jews should have finished the job in 1967 and took over the whole of Eygpt and Jordan Syria and lebanon and banned Islam.

How I wish our UK government had the guts of the Israeli government to simply exclude or deport people who wish to enjoy the freedom to propogandise here in the UK on behalf of our enemies.

Finkelstein was not denied right of return as he was not trying to live in Israel, but visit. He was denied entry because he had just met with Hezbollah, the organization dedicated to destroying Israel. Not so hot on the truth yourselves are you?

It seems the truth is hurting the zionists when jews start to speak out agianst the action of zionists.
Since israel was founded using terror, the zionists should have thought about reaping what you sow.

Taz, you show your ignorance when you accuse Israel as being a fascist state. Go preach your hatred to the ones who listen, and we know who they are, don't we.
....and Good on Israel not allowing Finklelstein entry to their country.

Unless the Shin Beth knows something specific about Finkelstein's intentions for his planned period in Israel, it seems rather silly to bar his entry. The event merely provided Finkelstein with a perfect publicity opportunity and Israel appears to have shot itself in the foot. Israel hasn't shown much desire in the past to bar people from entry (consider all the ISM volunteers who really gave them a headache) Further why bar Finkelstein from entry when his books and articles are readily available in shops across the country.
So stupid does the decision appear that one really has to ask whether the decision is merely based on irritation with his published statements or that Shin Beth have genuine concerns about the impact upon security if he is allowed to enter the country.

Well here's a turn up and proof positive that the biggest threat to zionism and the State of Israel is the truth.
