Boris Johnson
Who says Islamophobia is a “natural reaction”. Vs Ken Livingstone
Who speaks out on behalf of Muslims. Ken & the Labour Party A vote for Ken Livingstone is not an endorsement of the Labour party. Only two candidates have a chance of winning in today’s election and we need to choose one of them! Muslims need to focus on the main parties where there is real power to make a change, rather then falling into the trap of marginalising ourselves and making a wasted vote. First and Second Preference Votes In today’s election you will have to put down your first choice and a second choice vote for who you want to vote for to be Mayor of London.
In the 1st column, you will mark a cross next to the name of your 1st preference. If a candidate has 50% of the 1st preference votes, s/he will be the mayor of London. ONLY IF no one has 50% of the 1st preference votes, the 2nd preference votes are added on. In this case, the person with the most 1st and 2nd preference votes will be the mayor of London.
Boris Johnson is close in polls to getting 49% of the votes. The target to win is 50%. Voting IS Halal Often Muslims worry about the Islam legitimacy of voting. Many scholars have explained that not only is voting completely Halal but in fact it is an obligation if it is in the way of justice. “In democratic countries which are ruled by man-made law, candidates from the various parties compete to attain power. Some of these parties or candidates are working against the benefit of humanity (i.e. against the law of the Creator), while the policies of others are less detrimental. Therefore, it is obligatory on the Muslims to utilise all means to promote the candidate who will best ensure the welfare of the people according to Islam, the law of their Creator, to be elected to the decision-making posts.” -Sheikh Haitham Al-Haddad
Where To Vote How can we recite Qur'an everyday and yet not lift a finger to stop the rise to power of a man who said that Islamophobia is the natural reaction to our beloved Qur'an. Make your voice heard today. Readers have left 12 comments.

I'm just off to the polling station now to cast my vote for Ken Livingstone. Then I'll be texting and calling everyone I know in London to remind them to get out and vote Ken. Every vote counts to stop BNP-Boris!

A second vote for the Greens is wasted - the smaller parties benefit from first votes whilst Ken would be safe with a second vote.
I voted Lindsey German 1 and Ken 2 and Left List for the rest.

Oh here we go, the blame game begins...The MCB didn't support anyone candidate and the BMI and MPAC backed the one who best represented all commnities and I am sure they would do the same thing again...and I am sure worms like you, who didn't lift a finger, would squirm at the end just like you have done now. Atiq you need you a good whack!

I think you muslims have lost it for Ken. The main reason being that Ken invited over that islamo-nazi from Egypt (the cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi). The one who wants gays killed, women beaten.
Good going, guys. Well done. Me? I voted Paddick first, Ken second

Today is the day. The time for campaigning is over. The time for action is now upon us. The time to make your decision is here. London gets her say. It is a choice between Ken Livingstone and 'BNP Backed' Boris Johnson. If you're still not convinced about Ken, don't believe it is halal to vote or are unsure about how to caste your vote, read MPACUK's guide to voting in today's election.
