Give Ken a head start Print E-mail
Sunday, 13 April 2008

ken.jpgDear friends,

Londoners will start casting their votes this week when postal ballots begin to arrive at people's homes.

Some experts predict that up to a third of all votes cast in this election will be cast before polling day.

We can give Ken a head start by ensuring we get the postal vote out, so the campaign will be gearing right up over the next couple of days. To do that, we need your help.

We have organised dozens of events to complement those already planned. There is something for every single supporter to do - and every single hour you spend helping will ensure Ken has a head start on May 1st.

This week really is crucial. There is something every evening: Tube stations are being leafleted from Angel through to Willesden Green. There are street stalls, leafleting sessions, phone campaign sessions, the lot.

Please take a second to look at the activities that have been organised, and join in to help ensure this crucial first week of voting gives Ken a head start on May 1st.

We need all the support we can get.
So does Ken.
So please get out there and keep him in.
Ken is a decent man with a conscience.
Which means that when he stands in the way to take the flak, as he often has, he gets hurt.
Now stand up and be counted, as he himself is under attack by the media: The Evening Standard, the Times Group which includes the Sun,
Associated Newspapers.

Return the favour to Ken.

VOTE KEN.

NEXT TIME THE ONLY CHOICE MIGHT BE THE RACIST TORIES OR THE BNP.

I've just seen MPAC's new group on Facebook and unfortunately it looks as though you are trying to confuse people - we all KNOW it's a two horse race, that goes without saying. The point is to show Ken that we are disgusted with what his party has done over the last decade - and he himself has been far from perfect too (giving staunch support to the police after Jean Charles, Forest Gate, etc).

Any vote against Boris is good enough - he has to get over 50% of ALL the votes combined to win on first preference (not just over 50% out of him and Ken).

They will inevitably have to rely on their 2nd votes to win this - MPAC is being dishonest to suggest otherwise. Boris is not going to win on first preferences alone - ie he is not going to get over 50% of all the votes combined.

Last time around Ken got 35% of first preference votes and the Tory got 28%. It would be truly miraculous if Boris got 50% on first preference votes and no one is suggesting that he possibly could.

I'm not sure if you are scaremongering on purpose or if you genuinely believe this. What's the point of your organisation and your daily lobbying against war, racism, Zionism and injustice if you are not going to stand up and strike a blow against all these things - and the party that has perpetrated all these things?

Ken is the 'pretty face' of a really ugly party that has carried out a lot of heinous crimes that quite frankly I haven't heard him speak out against in a really long time.

I saw Asghar hailing Assed Baig as a modern day Malcolm X - agree totally, but it's a shame MPAC does not have the backbone of Assed who quite rightly rejects cheerleading for the murderous Labour party.

MPAC is giving very mixed messages here and is seriously in danger of losing credibility and integrity.
