PRESS RELEASE: Mayoral Election Print E-mail
Thursday, 03 April 2008

jihadlogo.jpg“MPACUK is actively encouraging Muslims to get involved in the democratic process”

MPACUK is supporting Ken Livingstone in the London Mayoral election and is strongly urging fellow Muslims to vote.

Our campaign involves activating mosques to publicise the election, working with other Muslim organisations and giving out leaflets of which we have already distributed over 20,000.

Catherine Heseltine the manager of the election campaign says it is all about “actively encouraging Muslims to get involved in the democratic process and giving them the knowledge as to who and who is not in their interests to vote for”.

MPACUK wish to highlight the detrimental effects of Boris Johnson becoming Mayor and believe Ken Livingstone is the right candidate for London Mayor due to his unwavering support for Muslims on issues such as tackling Islamophobia, acknowledging the suffering of Palestinians, and his commitment to environmental issues.

If you wish to interview MPACUK media spokespeople or follow us on the campaign trail contact us at the details given below.

20,000 leaflets distributed so far is pretty impressive but there are over 600,000 Muslim voters in London - are other Muslim organisations and mosques trying to reach them or is it only MPACUK doing anything pro-active?

Insh'Allah my donation to MPACUK will help you warn a few more Muslims to stop the racist Boris Johnson.

With all due respect Ken Livingstone does not seem a moral man. More like a womanising alcoholic.

Was there any sort of democratic vote involved in MPAC's decision to support Ken?

Every day you campaign against war, Islamophobia and Zionism and then you uncritically support the party that is responsible for all these things?

Boris can't win if everyone gives Ken their second vote - you could have done the principled thing and called for an anti-war vote first and a Ken vote second.

Sadly I think you are alienating many of your supporters by taking this stance.

There are either so very dumb witted muslims who have no idea of how instrumental Ken has been in supporting the muslim community and Britians multicultural heritage................or they are zionist undercover bots.

Assalaam walaikum and Greetings

My 2-cents on this thread.

The knifes are out for Ken.

When you wish to stop a person coming into power and you have nothing against his policies and he appears to be the most popular choice then the typical (Zionist) means to bring him down is to discredit the individual just in time before the elections.

AND they have done just that by prying into his personal life and showing his 'immoral behaviour' when this moral behaviour could have been dragged out years ago.

What this ‘immoral’ man does in his private life is his business.

But this ‘immoral’ man stood up for Muslims by allowing Sheikh Qaradawi into the UK, the Imam of the Kaaba into the UK (despite the fact such Sheikhs preach jihad against the Zionists).

This ‘immoral’ man asked Londoners not to take their anger on the innocent Muslims after 7/7, and that 7/7 should not divide the Londers.

Where was his personal life then ?.

I have heard of a few Mosque committee members who have (and continue) to lead dubious lives and yet they preach Islam.

In other words, No one is squeaky clean these days.

And as for the comment about Ken belonging to a party (labour) that has caused wars in Muslim lands.

Well, I guess that because I voted for labour the last time, and many anti-war protesters voted labour the last time and some labour MPs were against the war, this then means that we are all anti-Muslims as well ?. I think not.

One should look at all the pros and cons of every individual and party and then make an informed decision.

Merely voting for an anti-war party is useless because they may have other policies that are detrimental to your family circumstances or your beliefs. The anti-war vote is popular because of the climate. Look beyond that.

No candidate will 100% look after the Muslims, 100% of the time.

No party will 100% back the Muslims all the time.

There will be some benefits and some disadvantages from each candidate.

The question is, which person or party appears to be better for you, and Muslims.

I’ll be promoting Ken (even though he costs me monies due to the congestion charger/low emissions policy), as he is better in comparison to the others.

Wasalaams and regards

It's sad and worrying that Muslim Londoners cannot have a discussion on whom to support for Mayor without bringing in the never ending obsession with Zionists.

Athena - a vote for Ken and Labour is a vote for Zionism.

Hamid - the Zionsists are trying to stop you voting for Ken.

Sultan - the Zionists are discrediting Ken by exposing his private life. (Are they? It's news to me.)

Elsewhere we are told the Zionists want you to vote because it is haram and undermines your Islamic identity, and the Zionsists don't want you to vote because that way you are disenfranchised.

Can you not even discuss the important issue of London politics without resorting to Zionsist conspiracy theories everywhere? By all means support the Palestinians, but can you not see how politically unhealthy you are becoming?

(Now wait for AA and Barabarosa to come and tell me how I am distracting the Muslims from the only important issue in the London elections, namely the ZioNazi genocide etc. etc. yawn yawn.)

Paul M. if you don't understand the obsession with Zionism, then you haven't been paying attention to recent world events. All decent people must stand up against this obscenity. Let's all get obsessed with Zionism and maybe that way we can end it, for the sake of world peace.

i can't believe Muslims are falling for the propaganda by the Zionists at the Evening Standard

We must support Ken for the moral stance he's shown opposing the war on Iraq, opposing Israel's oppression and opposing Islamophobia and racism

And if that isn't enough reason to vote Ken... how about the fact that alternative (Boris Johnson) not only supported the murder of hundreds of thousands of Muslims, he also had to resign from his job in the shadow cabinet after the media exposed him committing adultery and then lying about it!

Some of the commentry here is truely bemusing especially from brothers such as Khalid and Asif. Let me draw you a picture, this has got nothing to do with the Labour party or Kens personal life, insiders have said that the party itself is aware of the fact that this is a Muslim vote for Ken due to his just dealing with all London communities, not an endoresement of this blameworthy Labour party. This community has a clear, present and imminent danger fast approaching, the Ulema and the Sharia have openly decalared this to be addressed and deflected.

MPAC is doing a fantastic and tactical duty, but there are old school brothers, who command considerable strength, expertise, experience and contacts, who have set in motion a massive, co-ordinated and comprehensive campaign which will see the Masjids working in unison, homes being contacted, leaflets being distributed, debates beig held, people being ferried and tours being arranged for those who are tolerant and representative of all Londoners.
