Ken Livingstone has supported Muslims and has their backing

  • He welcomed Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi in 2004, despite a lot of criticism.
  • Ken attended and coordinated Islamic events in London, such as ‘Eid in the Square’ and ‘IslamExpo’.
  • Many prominent Muslim individuals and organisations have pledged to support Ken and get him re-elected, whilst also reaffirming that it is in the "best interest" of Muslims to vote for him in this year's elections on May 1.[1] The signatures include Dr Azzam Tamimi from the Institute of Islamic Political Thought, Mohammad Ali, CEO of Islam Channel, Dr Daud Abdullah, Professor Tariq Ramadan, Inayat Bunglawala, Salma Yaqoob and many more.[2]

Ken Livingston has tackled Islamophobia and racism

  • He has stood out in support of a multicultural society and has supported the Muslim communities as well as all other minorities against all types of prejudice.[3]
  • Ken commissioned a report in 2007 about Muslims in the UK media. The report exposes bias against Islam and he has called for the media to allow Muslims to be more fairly and accurately represented, which "is essential to overcome the elementary ignorance upon which so much Islamophobia – as with other forms of prejudice and bigotry – feeds."[4]
  • He has launched schemes that strengthen Race and Faith Equalities and has supported movements for women’s rights to wear the Hijab.[5]
  • He has taken part in launching a coalition to defend the freedom of religious and cultural expression, which works to defend the right of every individual to freely pursue their beliefs.

Ken Livingstone has openly spoken out against Israel and the war in Iraq

  • He called Aerial Sharon, "a very unstable leader with a record of war crimes and mass murder" on Sky News, in 2002.[6]
  • Ken acknowledges the suffering of the Palestinians and stated how the Israeli government has committed “horrendous things which border on crimes against humanity in a way they have indiscriminately slaughtered men, women and children in the West Bank and Gaza for decades".[7]
  • Ken believes that the USA and UK ought to have taken in the Jewish refugees and not displaced the Arabs for sixty years.[8]
  • He has criticised US and UK foreign policy, calling for the withdrawal of troops occupying Iraq and he has strongly voiced his support for the freedom of the Palestinians.[9]

Ken has improved the lives of all the city’s communities

  • He has protected the environment by creating Congestion Charges in central London. This has significantly reduced the amount of carbon emissions by up to 16% inside inner city London.
  • According the Metropolitan Police, crime in London has been substantially reduced by 19 per cent since 2003.[10] And the murder rate is down by 28% since 2004.[11]

Political figures have endorsed Ken

  • George Galloway admitted that "This is going to be a two horse race" and despite differences, Galloway believes "London will be better off with him (Ken) rather than (Boris) Johnson."[12]
  • Green Party leader Sian Berry has joined forces with Ken, asking "those who vote for her on May 1 to pick Livingstone as their number two choice."[13]

Polls are showing that Ken Livingstone and Boris Johnson are neck-and-neck, it is important for Muslims to make sure their vote counts by voting for Ken

Vote for someone who genuinely cares and supports Muslims in London and abroad.

Vote for Ken Livingstone

Lindsey German, founder of the Stop the War Coalition and candidate for the Left List has called for her supporters to vote for Ken 2nd too, long before the Greens did.

Muslims don't deserve politicians like Ken Livingstone who stick their own necks out to defend us. When the Zionists gun for people like Livingstone we're too asleep to support them.

All the mosques and Muslim organisations that are failing to mobilise the Muslim vote will be directly responsible if we wake up on May 2nd to find a racist Islamophobe replacing Ken as Mayor and a BNP member on the Greater London Council.

dont be fooled by ken and his ilk .. the end game is that he remains on the nu labour bank roll despite his protestations.

that is not to say that ken is the lesser of two evils, just understand that it is gesture politics and nothing more substantial.

Is MPACUK supporting the Greens now over Lindsey German and the Left List? That is disappointing to see. Lindsey German has also asked for her second votes to go to Ken but you haven't mentioned that. Have the Greens been as vocal or active in the anti-war movement as Lindsey German and her party? Or as vocal about racism and police harrassment? We all know they have not.

As this is posted as the lead article does this mean than MPAC rather than being a Muslim organisation is simply another branch of New Labour?

I will never vote Labour and i have already donated money to Lindsay German's campaign in the hope that more people will vote with their consciences rather than be bullied into supporting the ATHEIST Ken Livingstone.

Dont forget Ken Livingstone refuses to allow a public inquiry into the London Bombings of 2005 which have been proven to have been carried out by Mossad

Lovers of the bigoted racist fear not, the Muslim community is mobilising. Its youth and activists who carry the banner of British Islam and a love of this great city will be executing a timely and coordinated campaign to deliver the Muslim vote to the ballot box. This will be a testimony of our commitment to a veteran Mayor who stands tall against injustice, communal division and stigmatisation, whilst practically advocating his commitment to ALL Londoners and the issues they face.

Warmongers such as Boris will be taught a good lesson, I will leave you with his comments and fanatical support of a war that has cost billions, caused the death of 800,000 innocent people and destroyed generations to come… “If we know the Pentagon, there must be a very good chance that this will be an outstandingly successful and stress-free war.”

Haider

I was just wondering where this 'proof' of Mossad's role in the London bombing is? As I recall it was comitted by a group of fanatical islamists who recorded their admissions on video tape prior to the attacks.

Im sure we would all be very interested in your proof did the Mossad tell you?

Haidar - disappointing, I agree. This blinkered, uncritical support for Ken we cannot afford otherwise we are going backwards. He is after all in the Labour party, the party that has caused more bloodshed in the Middle East than any other UK govt in recent history and that has deliberately stirred up hatred of Muslims at home too. Ken is 'good cop' to the govt's 'bad cop' thus giving them a facade of credibility.

He does not even criticise his party the way that someone like Jeremy Corbyn does either, choosing instead the 'safe' option of talking only about the US - nevermind the fact that the US could not do all it does without the UK's support.

We don't want Boris - that is obvious. But Ken will be just as safe with our second votes. MPACUK should give their readers more credit than this and promote voting for an anti-war party that is not swimming in an ocean of Muslim blood.

I think MPAC know their political strategy better then you. Trying to split the vote and less Zio nazi Boris win is not going to help. Tell the zionists to give it up.

Why are so many people failing to understand that we have 2 votes and that a 2nd vote for Ken is just as important and relevant as a 1st vote?

Or is this a deliberate attempt to confuse people by playing dumb?

Three guesses which one.

For once I actually agree with Wendy Mann. Ken Livingstone is from that right-on so-called socialist faction that brought in the Housing policies that have created such a fertile breeding ground for the BNP. This is the same factions that argued for the tax regime that effectively breaks up families.
The London Labour Party has always used ethinic minorities to gain credibility and advantage, and then dumped them when they challenged the anti-social / anti-family policies of these so-called socialists.
The Ken Livingstones of this world will dump the Muslims, just as they dumped the old Jewish Labour voters, when they have sucked them dry of all they can get out of them.
If anyone thinks Ken cares about anything other than Ken, then they are fooling themselves.
Consider just for one moment just how much support the Muslims of London have given Ken. Then ask yourself where did all the money go? Now just cast your mind back to the events conencted with project in Brixton.

Ken Livingstone is pure evil.
Since he came to power the life of ordinary Londoners has become much worse.
More crime, more congestion, more expense and much of this is due to Ken's policies.
Surely as Muslims we must vote for what is good for ALL Londoners and that certainly is not Ken.
I have already stated that no Muslim should ever vote Labour and i think this very cunning and sneaky campaign to give Ken second votes is pure evil.
Boris Johnson is from a Turkish Muslim background and is very sympathetic to Muslim views. So this anti Boris campaign is wrong. Unlike Ken who since he became Mayor has carried out a policy of secularism.
Livingstone has awarded massive contracts to Israeli companies so his pro Palestine credibilty is shot.
Look up VERINT as an example.

My first vote = Lindsay German
My Second Vote = Sian Berry

Sympathetic like this...

"The proposed ban on incitement to 'religous hatred' makes no sense unless it involves a ban on the Koran itself" Boris Johnson

Stop talking horse-yard quality my friend, it will take more than a few heresay to blemish Ken's reputable standing within the community.

Surely Ken is a chameleon. He will appear to be whatever is needed depending on what company he is in. Do not be fooled by someone who will say what you want to hear to win your vote whilst all the time,as has been said ,holding atheistic views. His end game I am sure will be to remove all religious affiliations. As has been said ,he has a policy of secularism! Surely a vote for someone who has an understanding of the Divine is better. Boris Johson is an intelligent man who will listen and learn and do what is best for London. Do not waste your vote or allow someone so wiley to remain in power! Vote for Boris.
