Israel's planned celebrations include: 1.A JNF funded charity dinner at Windsor Castle 2.An international friendly football game against Manchester United, in Israel
TAKE ACTION Help lobby the following people/organisations: 1. Her Majesty, The Queen The Jewish National Fund is a racist organisation which owns land in the state of Israel, a lot of which it refuses to lease or sell to any non-Jews. This is both discriminatory and racist. The JNF also helps develop Israels illegal settlements in the West Bank, which exist today in defiance of international law. -Write a letter to Her Majesty, The Queen, requesting that they withdraw their permission to the JNF to use Windsor Castle to host its celebratory dinner. -Include the following points: -The JNF is a racist organisation which discriminates against Arabs and Palestinians. -The JNF assists the state of Israel in committing War Crimes against the Palestinian people. -It is unacceptable for the British Monarchy to support the state of Israel in its celebrations when the Palestinian have suffered for 60 long years, and continue to suffer daily, a life of oppression, occupation and brutality. We expect our Monarch to remain impartial in the circumstances. -For these reason, we find it unacceptable that the JNF be given access to Windsor Castle . Address: Her Majesty The Queen, Buckingham Palace, London, SW1A 1AA. 2. Manchester United Israel has issued an invitation to Manchester United Football club to play in an international friendly match in Israel to celebrate its 60th anniversary. -Lobby the Manchester United Football team, and ask them to refuse Israel s invitation. Include the following points: -Israel is an occupying power who has made the lives of the Palestinian people miserable for the past 60 years. -Israel restrict the movement of Palestinians and has even barred Palestinian football team to travel abroad. -Israel has regularly bombed Palestinian football stadium. -Israel s occupation is illegal, and it has been condemned by the United Nations on dozens of occasions because of its war crimes. -Israel has been responsible for initiating at least three wars in the region leading to thousands of deaths. -Israel is only a democracy for its Jewish citizens, and all others are treated in a discriminatory fashion, leading to criticisms of Apartheid like practices. -Israel s 60th birthday marks 60 years since the Palestinian Nakba or catastrophe, and we cannot accept that a British football team would aid in the celebration of the misery of 8 million Palestinians. If the JNF are intending to use the Windsor Castle to mark the 60th Anniversary of the creation of Israel, then we Muslims and non-Muslim supporters of the Palestinian Cause (such as the sympathetic anti-Zionist Jews) should do a peaceful demonstration outside Windsor Castle on the day. We will have a golden opportunity, under the world press, to voice our opinions. The demonstration placards should contain evidence such as 1) Number of UN violations by Israel Vs Nunmber of UN violations by Palestinians. 2) Number of Palestinian Children killed Vs Number of Israeli Children killed. 3) Collective Punishment being given, by homes being bulldozed. 4) Pictures of Palestinian (homemade firework and unguided) 'missiles' Vs Israelis (guided) F16 based Missiles. Let's dispel the myths that Palestinians have 'rockets' and 'Missiles'. 5) Details of Illegal Settlements by the Israelis, in violation of UN resolutions. 6) Anti-Apartied Laws preventing anyone but the Jews to purchase homes in Israel. 7) Military Aid given to Israel Vs Military Aid given to Palestine. 8) Aid given to Israel Vs Aid given to Africa (as a Comparison). More controversally, how about Placards containing 1) Pictures of Palestinian Children in Morgues 2) Controversial speeches by Israeli Ministers about how Arab and Palestinians are 'worthless' and that 'Israel controls foreign policy of the USA' 3) Jewish Children kissing and signing missiles 'with love' before they were fired into Lebenon, in the recnt Israeli-Lebenon War. 4) British involvement in the creation of Israel and what they promised to the Palestinians (and what the Palestinians actually got). Let's show the world who the real 'terrorist' really is. As this is a free country, allowing freedom of speech, it's about time we made use of this to show our displeasure at the ZIONIST Israelis. Perhaps instead of spending these precious resources jumping up and down outside Windsor Castle, it would be better to spend them trying to work out strategy by which the Palestinians and other peoples in the region could reasonably aspire to the same quality of life as the Israelis. This same moment if spent quietly might also be a time for reflection when those Friends of Palestine or Al-Aqsa should consider how their actions have contributed to the Nakhba and the continuing catastrophe. The planned protests are onanistic at best.

I very much doubt that Israeli policy will change significantly because the JNF doesnt have a party at Windsor castle or anywhere else. The majority of Israeli's both politicians and people on the street care very little about public opinion in the UK and all this would do is further convince the Jews in England that the muslim community are attacking them directly. I think that people posting here need to recongise that however much they either hate Israel's mere existance or simply disagree with their policies ( and this does vary)the country will never disappear or be disestablished as it is a sovereign state recongised by the UN. I think many people both here and in Israel will be proud of its achievements and sad that the creation of two states living peacegfully together has not yet been recognisied.

However the inequity demonstrated by many international bodies such as the UN in regard to this simply adds to Israel's sense of being "picked on" and inhibits the progression towards peace. Behind this attitude on the part of int'l bodies is fundamental hypocrisy and dishonesty. Unfortunately the media does not do a good job in presenting the issues and the background tot he conflict. From the Friends of Al-Aqsa - Supporters of the state of Israel are planning its 60th Birthday celebrations around the world. The Palestinians are also marking this day as the 60th anniversary of the Nakba the catastrophe that cost them their homeland and made them refugees for 6 decades. The brutal occupation continues and every day, Palestinians continue to be killed by the Israeli army who shows little consideration for life and property.
