jihadlogo.jpgNo, there isn’t a typo in the title - this is exactly what we Muslims have started to do.

There are little girls being raped. There are children being shot in the head on their way to school. There are pregnant women being forced to give birth at checkpoints.

And the Muslims do nothing.

What’s worse is that we stop others from doing good deeds too.

But brothers and sisters, I’m not going to bore you with these facts for two reasons:

- They don’t seem to affect you any more. I guess we’ve become so used to seeing innocent people killed we just don’t care enough to do anything.

- You know all this already, whether you choose to accept it or not is a different thing.

When did we become people that could witness the killing of children and not even shed tears?

When did we become followers of a faith that didn’t ignite in us the feeling and the need to help those who are oppressed?

When we did become such savages?

Moreover, the one thing that hurts more than anything is the fact we use Islam as an excuse for our inactivity.

Islam turned drunken, daughter-burying Arabs of the past into men of the highest stature whose hearts bled when they saw injustice – why can’t it make us into even half-decent people?

I plead with you, my fellow Muslims - please do something, any decent practical action, to help this Ummah – I can’t stand seeing the injustices anymore and neither should you.

Remember, that by not stopping an unjust person you become just as bad as them because by doing nothing you allow such a person to get away with their actions.

If you don’t help the oppressed, then you become the oppressor.

If you don’t forbid and stop the evil then you become one who forbids and stops the good.

“Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity.”
The Glorious Qur’an, Surah 3 (Surah Al-e-Imran), Verse 104

Shame on all us that would call themselves muslims for allowing these situations to exist.... not because the victims are muslims ....but because they are atrocities that no muslim can allow to exist irrespective of the race, colour, gender, creed or religion of the the victim.

What I would also like to know is where are the holier than thou politicans that we elect such as woolas, cryer and recently cameron and all those that like to attack the shortcommings of the asian community are when it comes to atrocities such as these.

I strongly agree with this letter.
I am not a religious person but I think that believers should dedicate more of themselves towards the creation of common good and fighting evil.

Unfortunately what I see is a lot of passivity. Everyone for themselves, praying a lot, observing all the rituals but doing nothing for society, to help others. I see many people who are so worried about their own paradise. Well that is not being religious. That is egotism.
