News? Who cares! Birmingham Branch Meeting This Sunday Print E-mail

mpacbhamlogosmall.jpgIt has suddenly dawned on me just how oblivious some Muslims are about what is happening in the world today.

I was always quite aware that Muslims can be quite laid back in their approach to many issues, even those which affect them directly.

However, I have now come to realise that young Muslims, who are our future, are turning a blind eye, and are just as, if not more, laid back than some of the older generation.

As a young Muslim myself, I feel it is not only my responsibility to educate those older than me about the current state of Muslims in the world, but also to really open the eyes of my peers too.

I was doing just that today. On many occasions I approached young Muslims to get their views on a recent event in the media.

Many didn’t have the time, which is of course understandable. Then there were others, who stopped and made general conversation with me, but were reluctant to voice their opinions on the matter in hand.

The most upsetting were those young Muslims who didn’t respond when greeted with “Salaam” and walked past me saying they didn’t know and care about what was happening.

My philosophy has always been to educate Muslims. If we don’t educate ourselves about current affairs, how will we ever pursue the necessary action to change anything?

In order for there to be change, education must occur. It is difficult enough, to make active, those who are aware. It is even more difficult, to educate those who refuse to be educated.

There are issues that affect Muslims everyday. If we don’t address them together, they will only get worse.

Get educated. Get active.

Join the MPACUK Birmingham team this Sunday to discuss how we as muslims can bring about change.

They give their todays for our t: Quote

As Muslims we live in relative freedom and can claim the protection of the European Convention of Human Rights and the Human Rights Act only because there are people sacrificing their lives for us every day in Iraq and Afghanistan and suffering under the atrocities of the European and American "champions" of freedom who are not even mentioned when Zionists and oil merecenaries murder them.

Those Muslims who live in the Guantanamo and Bagram gulags as guinea pigs to the experimentation in torture and abuse by Zionists and their agents sacrifice their lives so that we in Britain can live in relative safety as "equal" citiziens in Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad Britain.

It is therefore our duty as British Muslims to raise our voice against the excesses and abuses against Muslims anywhere in the world.
