Such a description is not only inaccurate but inflammatory. - Terrorists do not represent Muslims. - Terrorism is completely un-Islamic and is opposed by the overwhelming majority of Muslims. - The IRA were not called ‘Catholic terrorists’. - Associating all Muslims with the actions of a handful of violent extremists is irresponsible and fuels the growing problem of Islamophobia. - Reputable newspapers should take more care to use precise and responsible terminology and not to undermine community cohesion. (Remember if you want your letter to be considered for publication you need to include your full name, address and a contact phone number - don't worry your contact details would not be published.) Perhaps another point to include is: 'it was a criminal plot, just like any other conspiracy to murder', and nothing to do with being a Muslim. The irony is, of course, that the plot was to kill not just any British soldier, but a Muslim soldier!
Someone like MPACUK should complain to the PRESS COMMISSION, in addition to the Standard. Mind you, I stopped reading the Standard, since it seems to been edited in Tel Aviv, for the last several years.

No-one in any of the reporting has implied this. I re-iterate that calling it a "Muslim beheading plot" is correct. May I ask exactly when the word Jewish has ever been associated with a plot? So the last three cash scandals in the labour party have all been jewish..did they call it a Jewish plot?

However if I follow your logic and that of your chums who are echoing your thoughts (or it could just be you posing under different names) then the Bible should be called a racist book should it not? I was beginning to think that you guys had taken an extended leave of absence from commenting on the MPACUK website but glad to see that you're all back to try and divert the issue of Islamophobia and blame Muslims for people discriminating against them. People like you give Muslims more determination to tackle Islamophobia.

For a minute, take a step back and replace the word Muslim with "Black", "Gay" or "Jewish" and ask yourself whether that would be acceptable in the media as a headline? You would get immediate condemnation for the headline being racist, homophobic and anti-semitic and no doubt someone at the paper would get the sack and rightly so.

MUSLIM PLOT TO BEHEAD SOLDIER. I was assaulted by the headline again and again on the short journey home from work. I looked at the faces of the commuters streaming past and wondered how many were making the association between me as a Muslim in my hijab with this “Muslim plot”? Unless YOU want to be implicated as guilty then please complain about this shocking smear against all Muslims.
