As collective punishment is once again being metered out against the besieged civilian population of Palestine, in total violation of the Geneva Convention, to which Israel is a party, we wonder how much worse can their suffering get?  How many breaches of the Geneva Convention can Israel undertake before something is done to help the Palestinians?

Palestine.  It is the subject of the longest occupation of our time and a victim of one of the most under-reported conflicts in the world.  Our very own David and Goliath in action.  The media is generally either a co-conspirator of the aggressor or too afraid to stand up and call Israel to account.  No-one wants to be the subject of a vicious and well-rehearsed zionist campaign, which normally involves the rallying of hundreds of fundamentalists to write thousands of poisonous letters of complaint with the result of either silencing the lone critic or cutting his or her career short. 

A totally dis-propportionate response is enforced in a very public manner to deter others down this path.  Israel will not tolerate disobedience or exposure of the truth and has an army of Western civilians, many not even Jewish, who will do whatever it takes to 'defend the security of Israel'.   But slowly we are seeing a trickle of defiant intellectuals who are braving Israel's wrath to stand up for the truth and give the Palestinians a voice, many are Jewish and recognise our shared kindred.   

Melanie Phillips writes of Londonistan, to distract the world from the real and present catastrophic threat to global peace and security - the Zionist States of America.   The world's biggest and only superpower, is at the beck and call of the state of Israel.  Don't believe me? Think I'm exaggerating?  Try running for Congress let alone the Presidency without the powerful funding and endorsement of the Zionist lobby. 

Our Muslim leaders shake hands with Bush, sign away billions of dollars to the USA, some of which is probably siphoned off to finance Israel's mountain of military equipment, which will be used with impugnity to commit calculated acts of murder against innocent civilians and destroy what is left of Palestine's infrastructure and its beleaguered economy.   Our beloved Prophet (pbuh) instilled love for our brother in us and in his final sermon he stated that "Every muslim is a brother to every muslim and that muslims constitute one brotherhood". Shame on us, for we have strayed so far from his path and hence or Ummah is so easily savaged and made to self-implode.  Our numbers are many, but generally our Imaan (faith) is weak.  There are many cases today where muslims are killing fellow muslims, an act of disbelief, but blindly enacted to fulfil political allegience often to misguided, power hungry leaders rather than to Allah SWT.   Islamic civilisation is in decline because we are busy butchering each other rather than uniting and defending the Ummah against injustice and persecution and being an example to the world of justice and harmony.  Until we can put aside our petty differences of sect, which scholars we follow and countries we originate from, how can we right the injustices prevalent in the world today and stop the systemmatic violation of the human rights of our Christian and Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine and elsewhere? 

As for those few who Masha'Allah are doing something to actively challenge the zionist and right-wing propaganda against Islam and give the Palestinians a voice, may Allah SWT reward you and ease your path.   Remember the Sahaba (companions of the Prophet - pbuh) were only a few, but look what they achieved, without those approximately 300 faithful men and women at the battle of Badr, the true religion of Allah would have perished.  The Prophet (pbuh) was only one man, but according to the non-Muslim George Bernard Shaw, "If a man like Muhamed were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness...I have studied him - the wonderful man - and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ he must be called the saviour of humanity."
