I want you to imagine a Muslim group that did not stand by debating minor points of theology while you and your family was demonised in the press or by Government.

I want you to imagine a Muslim group that was not afraid to speak out for you, and was not going to sell you out to highest bidder or were too cowardly to do or say the right thing.

I want you to imagine a group, which did not focus your mind on trivia of so called Islamic debates while your enemies focused their minds on every major issue concerning you, your faith and your very way of life.

I want you to imagine a group that didn’t just tell you to grow a beard but never to protect that beard, to wear hijab but never how to protect that hijab.

I want you to imagine a group that would fight to reform every Mosque in the land, to make them democratic so that you and your family could not just pray there, but also to have a chance of sitting on the committee and be able to give back to the community. Where the best minds would be elected, to fight for the freedoms we are so fast losing.

I want you to imagine a group that would ALERT you when you were in danger, keep vigilant when others were arguing pointlessly or pacifying your minds, and show you practical ways of standing up for yourselves.

I want you to imagine a group that had practical solutions to your problems and not pie in the sky theories that never came to anything. I want you to imagine a group that cared for your children’s education, your daughter’s rights, your son’s freedom within Britain and would at the drop of a hat stand up for them in the full glare of the Media spotlight.

I want you to imagine a group that if and when an MP voted for war, would take to the streets to tell you his or her track record, even if it meant they were attacked in the press or by the leaders who supported those MP’s.

We are building it, day by day a small band of men and women are arising to make a future we can all be proud of.
