WASHINGTON, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today expressed concern about the decision of a student group that is involved in the so-called Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" to host a Michigan lecture by a representative of a British racist political party. The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) says the group, Young Americans for Freedom (YAF), is hosting a lecture tonight at Michigan State University by British National Party (BNP) Chairman Nick Griffin. SEE: Controversial British Politician to Speak at MSU
Griffin has been prosecuted in Britain for inciting racial hatred and has been quoted denying the Holocaust. He said: "It's well known that the chimneys from the gas chambers at Auschwitz are fake, built after the war ended."
According to the BNP Constitution: "The British National Party...is wholly opposed to any form of racial integration between British and non-European peoples. It is therefore committed to stemming and reversing the tide of non-white immigration and to restoring, by legal changes, negotiation and consent, the overwhelmingly white makeup of the British population that existed in Britain prior to 1948." SEE: Constitution of the British National Party A BNP news release quotes Kyle Bristow, chairman of Michigan State University chapter of YAF, as saying: "It is an honor to host Nick Griffin at my university. Griffin is going to explain how multiculturalism, mass immigration, and Islam are destroying Western civilization." YAF says Griffin will speak about how "Islam is Taking Over Europe." SEE: BNP Chairman's Speaking Tour of US Universities Going Well SEE ALSO: MSU YAF to Bring BNP's Nick Griffin to Speak YAF sponsored a recent "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" lecture by Rick Santorum, a former U.S. senator. The Daily Collegian reported, "The Penn State chapter of Young Americans for Freedom was contacted by ("Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" coordinator David) Horowitz and agreed to organize events on campus." The Southern Poverty Law Center lists Young Americans for Freedom -- Michigan State University as a "hate group." SEE: Active U.S. Hate Groups in 2006 "There appear to be growing links between anti-Muslim bigots in the United States and European racists and anti-Semites," said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. "Those who promote and exploit such links are doing a disservice to our nation and to its traditions of interfaith tolerance and understanding." Hooper said other speakers on the "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" lecture tour have been accused of racism and anti-Semitism, or have been linked to European racists. One of those speakers, Robert Spencer, recently offered a keynote address at a European gathering that included representatives of racist or "neo-Nazi" political parties. SEE: 'Islamo-Fascism' Week Speaker Meets with European 'Neo-Nazis' Another speaker, Ann Coulter, has referred to Muslims as "rag heads" and recommended that the United States invade Muslim countries, kill their leaders and convert everyone to Christianity. She recently caused outrage in the Jewish community for anti-Semitic comments. CAIR, America's largest Islamic civil liberties group, has 33 offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding. This is not surprising at all since Zionism is a form of fascism. — TazMaking up little homilies is very easy. Perhaps you could help me understand why you say this with an example or two. Wikipedia defines Fascism as:- "Fascism is an authoritarian political ideology (generally tied to a mass movement) that considers individual and other societal interests subordinate to the interests of the state. Fascists seek to forge a type of national unity through oppression and coercion, usually based on (but not limited to) ethnic, cultural, or racial attributes. Various scholars attribute different characteristics to fascism, but the following elements are usually seen as its integral parts: nationalism, statism, militarism, totalitarianism, anti-communism, corporatism, populism, collectivism, and opposition to economic and political liberalism.[1][2][3][4][5][6]" Since a Zionist is simply someone who supports the State of Israel then how does some Zionist based in the Sottish Highlands farming sheep suddenly become a Fascist? It doesn't make sense.

Israel was founded by Zionist ideology. It is a militaristic state based upon religious purity and run by a class of war-criminals. They started by ethnically cleansing the Palestinians and de-humanising them because of their religion whilst at the same time claiming they themselves were the "chosen people" - a breed apart. Sounds familiar?

I think that this isn't at all surprising.
All sorts of groups across the (mostly Western) world with 'Freedom' in their titles have had an 'irony bye-pass'. In fact what they represent is fascism and 'absence' of freedom, or worse a perverted understanding of that concept. Note the legend in Hitler's concentration camps read 'Arbeit Macht Frei' (works makes you free), and in Guatanamo the motto is 'Honour Bound to Defend Freedom'. In both cases it is an example of a satanic perversion of the word. As for the neo con(fused) he/she need only satisfy one acid-test of 'freedom' of speech: would they invite a holocaust denier (I personally completely disagree with holocaust deniers) to speak at an American University? I don't think so. They equate 'right to cause offence' with 'freedom of speech' (with the sole exception of ‘holocaust deniers’ – which they vehemently assert is too offensive to talk about). Ordinary Christians (vast majority) are just content to go about their business and are tolerant of other people’s right to practice their religion. However the evangelist (anagram: evil’s agent) has a ‘you’re with us or against us’ attitude, and are essentially ‘fascist’ in outlook (but they just don’t see it). In the Bible (John 14:6) it is purported that Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. Compare this with what the Quraan says about tolerance: ‘For you your religion, for me mine’ (Quraan ‘Sura Al Karifroon’, verse 6) Its pretty clear which one is exclusionary, and which is tolerant.

Sounds familiar? — Taz[Taz], I think that was an attempted answer to my question but you seem to have the formation of Israel wrong. If you are going to quote "Chosen People" then you are making an Old Testament and Koran quote. Hence you are correctly dating Israel as being created over 3000 years ago. How can Zionism (the establishment of a home for Jews) be racist. Isn't Saudi Arabia a home for Arabs, China a home for Chinese? So, why would the existence of a country for the race of Jews be racist? Israel, it seems, according to the Old Testament and Koran was formed by God/Allah who "chose" the Israelites. Clearly you are full of rhetoric - and wrong!

This appears to be the truth about the matter copied from YAF Watch blog site
Monday, October 29, 2007 Jewish and Muslim Student Leaders Condemn Griffin In a letter to the editor, leaders from Jewish Student Union, Spartans for Israel, and Arab Cultural Society came together to condemn YAF's Nick Griffin Speech. Signed by; Mike Epstein, vice president of Spartans for Israel Ricky Kamil, Jewish Student Union co-president Marina Hamati, Arab Cultural Society president There seems to be no association between D. Horowitz's "IslamoFascism Awaness Week" (IFAW) campaign and the appreance by BNP leader at MSU other than some opportunitism by YAF and BNP. MSU is not mentioned at all on IFAW list of events at universities. Spartan For Israel (SFI) is Michigan State University’s pro-Israel advocacy group. Thus it would appear that arch Zionists, Jews and Muslims have joined together to oppose this event and other activities of YAF. Robert Spencer is a writer who will upset some people, but there is no indication as far as I can see that he is a fascist. He is an Islamophobe insofar as he fears certain elements in the Islamic community. Is the real purpose of this story to stir up antagonism and hatred? If so MPACUK should remove it as it demeans their site and the people who are associated with MPACUK

RSD, that throws a different light on it!
Perhaps TWO Zionists and TWO Nazi's happened to meet at this event and said something negative about Muslims. That would be enough to qualify the headline. It seems unfair that you get labelled "Zionist" for pejorative purposes simply for opposing attacks agains Israel and Jews.

From the report I read not more than a dozen people attended this YAF event and half of them were from MSU administration making sure there was no trouble. The other six included Mr. Griffin. A couple of Zionists did attend for a few moments but walked out as a silent protest at the beginning. The Stormfront and Minutemen failed to put in an appearance depite being invited. A lot of fuss over nothing really

The thing about the brainless, autonomic response by Taz is that according to the Koran the Jewish people were 'chosen' by Allah who gave them the Land of Israel. Also, "Israel was founded by Zionist ideology", er, yes. Just like a golf club was formed by golfers and the Beatles were formed by people who wanted to be a pop group. Doh!

The writers here illustrate two of the principal barriers to peace between Israel and Palestine.
The first is not owning up to one's own wrong-doings. If Muslims or Jews believe they are in possession of the truth then why do they find it so difficult to show the strength of that belief and be honest of the wrong things they have done? (There have been idividual attempts but they have generally been attacked and threatened.) So long as this does not happen then the other side feels justified in not acknowledging their own faults. But this is an endless cycle. It was wrong for the Israeli / Zionists to drive Palestinians from their homes. It was wrong for the Palestinians to threaten to murder their Jewish neighbours. If the Deir Yassin massacre was a Zionist / Jewish crime then the Jerusalem and Hebron massacres were Palestinian / Muslim crimes. The second is the fabrication of lies about the side to gain so temporary advantage or instill anger. But the fact is that it achieves little and can lead to disaster, for whoever believes their own lies is destined to fail. Saeb Erekat was very vocal about how lies and exaggeration about the Deir Yassin Massacre had led to panic and fuelled the Nakhba. Only the weak cannot admit their faults, tell lies and exagerrate, and who can ever trust them?
