As previously mentioned in an MPACUK article, Forgotten Journalist is a web based concept empowering Muslims across the globe to be active citizen journalists. The emergence of the internet had brought with it hopes of a new, more democratic media system – ForgottenJournalist.com hopes to harness that hope in creating an alternative media driven purely by the everyday person.

For those of you who may have missed the previous article, ForgottenJournalist.com allows Muslims across the world to express their own personal points of view on the world in which we live in through active participation as citizen journalists.

By the virtue of Citizen Journalism, ordinary people are transformed into journalists, a platform being provided for your voice and opinion to be heard. Forgotten Journalist allows Muslims to contribute articles via the Internet, with the subject matter ranging from anything the citizen journalist wishes, in the backdrop of a worldwide audience.
Although www.forgottenjournalist.com aims to act as a voice for the unheard Muslim, the concept founders have stressed that the platform is not solely for Muslims – anyone and everyone is welcome to sign up and submit – and there have been a strong response in non-muslim article contributions.
