Brain Haw? The one man peace protestor who has remained in Parliament Square since 2001, formerly standing up against Iraqi sanctions and now staunchly opposing the US-UK “war on terror”. He has been hounded by high profile court cases, journalists and the police. He has EDMs supporting his protest and the government relentlessly trying to remove his embarrassing honest display and yet Brian Haw has not been alone in Parliament square. Since March 2003, Alex Tsiorulin has stood quite literally by the side of Brian Haw.
Alex Tsiorulin (Abdallah) is first and foremost a Muslim. He is originally from Russia and was born into a Jewish family. While living in Israel he became Muslim and was then subject to the blatant racism the so called secular state of Israel meters out to its non-Jewish residents. His punishment? A three year prison sentence. He then fled Israel and sought political asylum in the UK. Despairingly he told MPACUK personally how he thought that the Muslim community of this country would aid and support him. Instead his case went through a long and arduous process where he says that all of his papers have been “lost” by the Home Office. Typically the judicial system favoured the Zionists over Alex and in March 2004 the appeals process ran out and his stay here was deemed illegal. On the 13th June 2006, the day Ehud Olmert waltzed into Parliament, Alex came out of court and was arrested by Immigration officials and taken to Charing Cross station. He is now rotting in Colnbrok Detention Centre, and there is every chance that this brother of ours may been sent back to Apartheid loving Israel. Supporters in Parliament Square were then lied to by police as to Alex’s situation. They were told Alex had agreed to be deported to Israel and was happy with the decision. Clearly this was misinformation and he has declared that he is terrified of being returned to Israel. He is calling for help and has begun a hunger strike at the detention centre. The authorities were planning to put him on a plane back to Israel the very night of his arrest but his lawyer has managed to postpone this while he reviews the case. All courses of appeal have been exhausted however there is clearly a human rights issue to be resolved. No Zionist would ever been sent to face the verdict of a Muslim judge. We cannot allow Alex to be returned to the Israelis! The question is why was he allowed to remain illegally in Parliament Square for two years and why his sudden removal now, amidst the visit of the Israeli leader? WE MUST ACT NOW!
It is imperative we raise the issue, not only has Alex been forgotten by the Muslims (are we surprised?) but also by those who support Brian Haw. Clearly the MPs who wish to gain from Brian’s popularity see no need to get their hands dirty in an issue that may directly disturb the Zionists.

What can we do to help? We must stand by him, in his hour of need. As he stood up for the oppressed for all these years!!!
