The Black Students conference is coming up on the 20th and 21st of May where delegates vote for the new NUS Black Student's Officer, Committee and Policy that will decide what areas their Campaign should be. So basically if they want to use it to attack Muslims and Islam, they could do that, or if they want to ban the Hijab they can do that or just maybe if they want to use it as another reason to spread their hatred of Islam just like this years NUS Conference they can do that. MPACUK urges all Muslim students politically active or not to speak to your Student Union and say you want to attend to represent the Black and Asian students on your campus. | | Comments closed |

Islam and Muslims are attacked daily in the media or politically, you only have to monitor a few days’ papers to understand this. What you probably don’t understand is how this fits into “The Game”. Let me illustrate this by Muslim attitudes to and use of the “J” word. We do not want to be associated with the “J” word, we don’t use it for fear that we will be labelled as proponents of hate and we don’t recognise how the study of the “J” word will help us in our lives. No recognition of Israel, no negotiations, no laying down of arms. The message from the Tehran conference could not have been clearer. Since the beginning of April Israeli troops have killed more than 30 Palestinians, six of them children. The scale of the Israeli slaughter is three times the toll exacted by last week's Islamic Jihad bombing of a restaurant in Tel Aviv.
