Yesterday MPACUK visited Derby to meet local movers and shakers as well as activists. The new foreign secretary Margaret Beckett is the MP for this area with a slim majority of 2000 votes. MPACUK has decided that Israel cannot get away with its evil war crimes and expect high-level backing from MPs who rely on Muslims for their jobs. Meetings went better then expected, as anger and fury has spread across the country as Israel’s evil destruction of a sovereign state intensifies. Locals have all agreed to take action.

On the 13th July’s edition of ‘This Week’ Maureen Lipman made the shocking claim that Arab blood was cheaper than Israeli blood. Further, the only person to respond was MP Dianne Abbot calling the comment, ‘unfair’. However, it seems that it is rather the fact that such a comment was allowed on the BBC which is actually unfair.

How exactly does one help correct mistaken, incomplete or misleading facts about the attack on Lebanon? Write to the BBC and tell them they have it wrong! As simple as that! How often do we moan about journalism that just misses the point or fails to address certain facts? Yet how many of us actually take the time to write to the author responsible and remind him or her? | | Comments closed |

Foreign Office minister Kim Howells has criticised Israel's bombardment of Lebanon, while on a visit to Beirut. He said Israel had not carried out "surgical strikes" and attacking the Lebanese nation was not the answer. Downing Street said the prime minister would stand by Mr Howell's comments, adding the British government had "always urged restraint on Israel".
