Face to faith
Tuesday, 26 February 2008
flag_of_lebanon.gifLebanon's pluralism could teach the west much about religious tolerance, says Alex Klaushofer. These days I often feel caught between two fundamentalisms. On one side is the trumpeting atheism of the liberal left that has come to be as much a part of contemporary Britain as wet summers and late trains. It pops up all over the place, at meetings and in pub conversations, expressed in pithy comments that give the finger to God and assume a cosy agreement among everyone present.

Friday, 22 February 2008

mpaclogo.jpgIt’s not easy being awake - being aware of the suffering around us. You have to stand up to the evils you see inside of yourself and to all those evils around you that you see in your daily life. Not only that, you often have to take the slings and arrows of the very people you try to defend.

Enjoining the Evil and Forbidding the Good
Friday, 22 February 2008

jihadlogo.jpgNo, there isn’t a typo in the title - this is exactly what we Muslims have started to do. There are little girls being raped. There are children being shot in the head on their way to school. There are pregnant women being forced to give birth at checkpoints. And the Muslims do nothing.

Forced marriage has nothing to do with Islam - indeed it is unIslamic and condemned by the authentic teachings of Islam.
